Looking at the PS2 games that are made in Japan by Japanese
developers it looks like these guys love their jobs because most of their games are just too good.
If you look at the catalogue of Ps2 games you'll find that most of the good must have games are made by Japanese developers even though there are also a good games by Western developers eg SSX, Quake, Red Faction etc.
If you look at the top 3 games for Ps2 some of which are not released which are : FFX, Mgs2 and GT3, they are all from Japan.
Gt3 is a Japanese game and is one of the killer games that Ps2 has, it is also known as "the reason to own a PS2", it is also the best game on the PAL PS2.
MGS2 which is still to be released is a killah title for the PS2 and this will obviuosly sell PS2s even here in the UK when its released.
FFX seems far away for us western gamers but it has done well in Japan and also looks like a title that will also sell Ps2 here.
Now these games are the best of their genre, Gt3 is the best racer, MGS2 is the best adventure game and FFX is the best RPG.
There are also other good Ps2 games from Japan like Resi Evil, SH2, Onimusha and many more but that doesn't mean that Western developers aren't doing anything good one very promising title is Stuntman which is original and looks fun.
Also the list of quality games for the PS2 from western developers is huge and so is that from Japanese developers but we all know that PS2 is a Japanese machine and so was the Playstation maybe thats why they release such good games because they invented the games industry.

You are right.The developers there are really passionate about games and they want to deliver some quality games to the people.Unfortunately many games dont make it to UK.There are loads of innovative titles like Densha De Go that some people would love to play.So unless you have friends in Japan you will have to read about these games in the mags
