Right, for the epitome of Dan2K1-ness, I shall quickly explain me, or not.
10 things you should know about me, and why you should vote for someone for notable:
1. I am convinced Ali is very much not liking me, ever since I crashed his server, he forgot to buy insurance, and reviews can now no longer be longer than 4000 characters - no longer. I accidentally on purpose pasted part of an email that completely showed Ali up as a contradicting person, in regards to the time it took for gameaday. This week, I truly believed I stood a chance of winning a place in the top 3 taglines, but no, it was not to be - no taglines were mentioned. PAH! Nah, really, when I win GAD, Ali will be fine. Fine Ali. Oh dear...
Dan2K1 quote:
"Fine Ali - I have won!"
2. I'm 16, I don't really care about winning a game - I just want to win, and want to actually stand a chance of winning. I need to win the game, in order to fund me being here as unfortunately BEING on the net all the time has its costs. Time is money. Without money, there can be no time. After all, we invented time.
Dan2K1 quote:
"Time to burn? Don't try burning time - it will never stop"
3. I have posted the second highest amount of words on the forums - ever, as I used to be "dan", but then got re-allocated in the big shake up, very scary time that was, I think I was changed to dan584 or something, but that "dan" is still there, I can't get into the account, but you can wonder off to the Top Posters link and gaze in awe at daza10's stats - over 70000 words, all mine + the Dan2K1 = second highest. How did I find this out? Submitted a review of F355, found that "dan" was the first to do so, dan was me - dan is now daza10, dan's review was tiny, but mine, and I won a game for it, but as a post.
Dan2K1 quote:
"Hoorah! I'm not as successful as I thought I was"
4. THUS Tony, if you are reading AND YOU MUST READ THIS BIT TONY then you will see that my old account, I cannot remember the password or even email address - may be my virgn.net account, actually won 5 and I have won 4 as Dan2K1 - 4 games in almost 300 days? Not bad :(, but hey, this only means my stats HAVE to be combined to put me back where I should be, in second, and of course - that means I have been on the forums for longer than most people - 521 days. Woohoo!!
Dan2K1 quote:
"We're all great, but I NEED gold font"
5. I recently had an experience involving the worst customer service you can find in regards to a widescreen television. This is completely pointless me telling you that, but I will put a review of Empire Direct on these forums in 30 minutes. Empire Direct - bad.
Dan2K1 quote:
"Can't complain about their customer service. Why? They had none!"
6. BLACKBURN!!! I am a Blackburn supporter, if you want to discuss football, go to the football and life forums - I'll battle out my case to you, and I won't accept you saying Blackburn are crap. They aren't. OK? Ok. Good. Calm. Karma.
Dan2K1 quote:
"David Dunn - the new Alan Shearer"
7. TRANCE!!!! Well, Robert Miles' DreamLand arrived today - released about 4 years ago I think, and I have to say this is the best euphoric dance album I have ever heard - Children, Fable, One and One - and the rest are superb. Really, this man is a genius, he should come back and make himself famous again. MAURO PICOTTO - KING of the hard trance scene, listen to his music, Like This Like That is a supreme tune, the Double Album is sublime - it's not mindless thumping, this is sequencing and synth effects at their best. Mario Piu - also superb.
Dan2K1 quote:
"Not all mindless rubbish sounds bad - you ever listened to 'mindless rubbish'? No? Didn't think so"
8. MAD! Dan is mad, Dan refers to himself as Dan, and so should be talked about and to, with IMMENSE caution. Dan's insanity is not such a problem though, he gets through life spinning round in his swivel chair. Ah, good swivel chair. I like living, I'd never done it before I started, and what can I say!? It's an experience, and one that I will never forget. Life is good, even when you're feeling down - things always brighten up:
Dan2K1 quote:
"You're depressed? Don't let it get you down!"
9. DVD colllection:
BLADE: Best action, thriller, vampire-esque film of all time. 5 stars
Scary Movie: Hmm, a spoof of a spoof, funny at times, never loses the plot, didn't really have one. 3 stars
Alien: Makes you think, a great atmospheric film - the best parts are when nothing happens - classic.
Aliens - like the box, cost me £2.99, need to watch this without falling asleep. Sigourney Weaver is far nicer now - seen her in Galaxy Quest?
Hollow Man - superb specials, very well done, good acting, incomplete endi
The Exorcist: One of the most influential films I've ever seen, who cares if how loosely it was based on a true story - this film is one of the most powerful things you'll see. Real eye opener this one. Not scary, just makes you think - definitely watch it.
Mickey Blue Eyes - never seen it, Tony my brother has, but then he's called Tony.
Gone in 60 seconds - great film, Nicholas Cage tries his best to act the part, lovely cars, Superb.
Erin Brokovich: flawless acting by the sassy wide smiling Julia Roberts, this is a very endearing film, with amazing picture clarity and presentation.
DUNE: I just love this idea, a planet of sand, and oh, spice too? Dune is an epic - the film was brilliant, just too complicated for many, but still, this set up a hell of a lot of game sales. Dune 1 - OH MY GOD what a fabulous game, then Dune 2 - then every single Command and Conquer game, then all the clones, then Dune 2000, then Emperor: Battle for Dune (Dune 3). Great film, worth watching just to see Sting and Patrick Stewart looking like they did!
Being John Malkovich - Brilliant. Absolutely fantastic arty parade of unlikely events and complete insanity. Guess that's why I like it. Top notch acting by the brilliant John Cusack, and how on earth did I not recognise Cameron Diaz?
Road Trip - the ultimate feel good film. Definitely the comedy film of the century, if you don't own this then get it now!
Charlie's Angels: this is not a film, it's a collection of action scenes blended with a superb soundtrack - great specials and 3 attractive kick ass angel people. No plot, thus, can't fault the plot!
GLADIATOR: the best film of all time, ever, bar none, forget what I have said before about anything - should I have said that a previous film was the best film of all time ever bar none, as Gladiator rules big time. WOW.
The Sixth Sense. This really did set up Haley Joel Osment for life - he's an amazingly talented young actor - the film totally encapsulated me, it's just so well done, what a really emotional, but moving and well acted production.
Crouching Tiger Hiden Dragon - still in shrink wrap. Need I say more? Yes. Ok, never seen it, I will later. Probably.
Men In Black - further cementing the fact that Will Smith is the man, Men In Black combines hilarious comedy and sci fi action. Incredibly well thought up, roll on the second.
Toy Story 2 - yay! Very, very clever. Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, Kelsey Grammer - and the rest. Wonderful. :-)
Jurassic Park + Lost World Box Set - both are great, the original has better music, and better storyline, but I think the Lost World is a decent film. JP 1 - 5 stars. TLW - 4.
Blair Witch Project - scary ish at the cinema, again, very clever - very lucrative, I should have thought this up...worth a watch. Nice n spooky - watch it at Halloween, with a some mates, and make sure at least one is a girl!!
Mike Oldfield - The Millennium Bell. Good selection of classics, this is the Millennium Concert he did in Berlin, stunning. But not long enough, and Songs of Distant earth is definitely on of the best best albums ever.
Thats that!!
10. Weightlifting, food and the rest - weightbench takes up half room, but well worth getting one - very effective, especially for hanging clothes on (they should have hangers first), the barbell and dumbells come separately!!
Food? ITALIAN food. Italy - wonderful country, I think I'll live there when I'm older. Gelati mmmmm.... Linguini....Pizza!!! Oh and the med!
The Rest?
I have said a lot, I'm waking up in 4 hours, my eyes are struggling to rotate, I am now touch typoubnfg without msny eryorss, and now I am not touch typing. Hehe.
OK, VOTE for someone that makes the FUTURE OF GAMING FORUM a special place - not the others, look at the Top Posters ok?
Remember The FOGS.
Vote Dan2K1, Dan needs a GAD, then Dan will announce the winner of the Dan2K1 competition, over there on FOG Prime.
CHEERS!!
