Perhaps one of these or someone else?
Muhammed Ali - pure natural talent with a flair in and out of the ring.
Pele - perhaps the greatest footballer ever - he had feet of magic and an unrivalled career.
I could go on and on but i just need to say my personal choice and i think many of you may agree. It has to be the mercurial Michael Jordan. This man in my opinion is the most talented athlete i have ever seen. I consider it a real honour that i have had the pleasure of actually watching him play - i got tickets to see the Bulls when i was on holiday many years ago, and it's a moment i'll never forget.
So what about all you lot?

Since posting this message the suspect has been aprehended and taken to a secure mental unit where his mental state will be assessed. And his rehab will include lectures on sporting greats.
In 84 he emulated the four gold medals of Jesse Owens in one olympics but that was nevere in his mind. Lewis is and was his own his own runner, the reason he won four;
"The reason I did four medals was because i had done three the year before and I thought to do three again would be boring" Carl Lewis.
His results and simple will to better himself speak for themselves as why carl Lewis is the most succesful track and field athlete of all time and a real contender for best sportsman ever.
The single greatest sportsman to ever walk this planet.
An amazing boxer, nobody else has ever come close or ever will for his style, speed and pure showmanship.
His stance over America's involvement with Vietnam, refusing to be drafted saying "Ain't no Vietcong ever called me ni**er" that cost him his title belt, yet he still refused to compromise his beliefs. His following of Malcom X, the supporting of black rights in an age where lynchings, murder and intimidation were the norm.
And, despite his illness today, millions all over the world still think he's the greatest.
Always has been, always will be.
Mind you, I'm being completely biased here because I live in Britian and Daley was British.
The late Florence Griffiths-Joyner was another of my favourites in terms of her achievements on the track.
