I really feel for these people. They've obviously got talent but have never had their lucky break. Of course I'm talking about people who sing the theme tunes to TV programmes. Even working on a cruise ship with Jane McDonald is better than that. I'm still off work ill and I get to watch all the crappy daytime things that people put no effort into because they know no-one watches them. Imagine being in a studio when they were recording the Thundercats theme tune. Sure it's a seminal moment in cartoon history, but can you imagine it on your CV? There's an animation about ponies on at the moment and the bloke was singing "Ponies, lovely ponies, can't I run my hands through your hair" it wsa something like that anyway. What's the best (where best=worst) TV theme tune you've ever heard?

The best is for the Renford Rejects on Nickolodeon... its Manic Street Preachers :D

On the subject of daytime TV... I am sure it is a ploy by the government to get people to go and get jobs as daytime TV scraes them out the house :)

You're wrong and you're a grotesque ugly freak. The best is Thundercats.

Anyone remember 'Pole Position'? That's got to have the cheesiest 80s theme tune...

'Pole Position!! Only their uncle knows!'

I seem to remember a 'Wayoh, wayoh, wayoh!' bit as well.

Someone who seems to do a lot of theme tunes and incidental music (e.g. Bod) is Derek Griffiths - you guys know of him? He also does the voice over for the JamJar.com advert.

Anyway, he's groovy.

I hated the music to 'Tickle on the Tum', Ralph McTell must die for that. Also, the music to Orm and Cheep. That really, really sucked.

Slightly aside, the most emotional music ever written for ANY TV programme was the music at the end of The Moomins, not the cartoon one but the original puppet thing. It upsets me to think of it, let alone hear it....

I heard of Derek Griffiths, why of course. Heads and Tails was the best programme he was envolved in. Though He did narrate 'Dark Towers', the ongoing saga from Words and Pictures which was good as well.
