I have been thinking about getting a dance mat :) I thought it might be fun, I don't know anyone who has one and there seems to be loads of different mats and games out there. I'd like advice about whaich mat and which game would be the best, bearing in mind that I don't get a huge ammount of time on my PS2 so I don't want to be spending a fortune.

Thanks

Heh ... good for you.

Get two dance mats and then you can have a friend over and either compete or err compete to see who's best :)

Now I want both!!!

The dance mat does sound good for burning the calories and I won't have to leave the comfort of my own home :)

My friends son has the eyetoy, I'll get him to bring it round so I can try it out. Looks like I'll be spending twice as much now, on both items :)

My gfs 2 daughters have the dancemats and also the eyetoy and eyetoy groove, out of the two I'd say the eyetoy is much better than the dancemats.

I have actually used the dancemat and was pretty knackered, the games do have a calorie counter so you can see what your burning off - but the eyetoy groove as the same and is much more entertaining. Plus with the eyetoy you also get a disk which has about 10 or so games where you interact with the screen, very entertaining and well worth the money.

Some gym's have included those dance arcade machines in them as they encourage folk to move about and exercise a bit more, a bit like the bikes and row machines that have some game aspect to them.
Trying to make getting fit a bit more interesting I guess.

If you want one then get the free one from joining SR as FM said, better than buying an expensive one and getting bored of it and not using it much.

Special Reserve will give you a pretty good dance mat for free if you sign up as a member (so it'll cost you £7.50 membership + £3.00 p&p, £10.50 total for a dancemat is a bargain). Or get the Dancing Stage Megamix (PS2)+ Dance Mat bundle for £31.99.

Alternatively, forget the dancemat and go for an Eyetoy and Eyetoy: Groove which will set you back around £50-£60 for both in total. More expensive than a dance mat but a lot more fun.

It's not tiring as long as you've got basic fitness, i.e can walk to your car without gasping for oxygen. The best game to get for this sort of thing is Dance Dance Revolution but i'm not sure it got released in Europe, or if it did it's harder to find than an honest politician.

I've just had a baby - hence the not much time. Do you reckon it could help loose the few extra pounds I'm carrying? Is it really THAT tiring?
