every time i put a game in to my xbox cd drive the xbox has trouble reading the disc. the other day i bought a brand new game and when i got home i put the disc in the drive and the xbox came up with a message saying your xbox console cannot read the dics please check if it is dirty or damaged, i always check the disc and i look after all my games alot whats goin on ????

Yeah that could be the reason, I'm not sure if it's ok to run a disc cleaner through your machine though.

Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge will be along shortly :)

lol if onli, my xbox does still work jus it has serious troble reading the discs, may be the disc drives dirty ?

Without warranty, MS will probably charge you £70 + labour to replace the drive.

You *could* buy a Samsung drive off eBay and fit it yourself (there are various guides online), but if you don't feel confident doing that just buy a new Xbox.

to be hounest i duno y i sed it was still under warranty, i get confused easily. so wt dya rekon i shud do bout it

I have had my xbox for 14 months, it's gone in for repairs because of that same problem.
The CD-Rom is knackerd mate.

Nope, I've only had my xbox for a week.

17 months old, are you sure it's still under warranty, I'd be very suprised as it's usually only for a year.

hmm dat soundz quite bad, iv onli hd my xbox for about 17 months. i think it is still under warranty, hv u eva had n e problems like this
