This is wierd....

I have started to collect retro consoles and have given various people lists of what to look for. On that list was the Atari 2600. I used to have one years ago, but gave it to a jumble sale in Nailsea (near Bristol)back in 1987...My dad has just come around with an Atari that he bought yesterday at a carboot sale in Cwmbran (Wales). It is boxed with two games (Centipede and F-15) and two controllers...odd I thought...that's the games I had...so I looked on the bottom of the console and my postcode is etched on the bottom!!! It's the same one I gave away 17 years ago!!!

Brilliant.

I once had a rented telly when I was a kid. It spontaneously combusted one night, so got returned. Several years later I went to my aunts and she'd bought it.

Must have been repaired and sold on, then that person sold it.

Not in the same league as your find, but amusing nonetheless. I even still had the front panel for it.

hehe.. spooky!
cool though,

boy has atari,
boy plays atari,
atari becomes obsolete,
boy sells atari,
boy gets curious,
dad buys atari,
boy gets atari, dad AND story
...it's a classic tale :)
