For all of you who are not currently living on the island of Puerto Rico El Chupacabra, which translates into "Goat Sucker", is a creature that has been reeking havoc and terror throw out this small island by killing farm animals in a bizarre way. The animals, which are normally located on farms, have had their whole bodies sucked dry of blood with 3 fang marks on their necks. It is also reported that the animal does take certain organs out of the creature it kills after sucking them completely dry but this has only been reported in a hand full of cases. El Chupacabra got its name from the first victims of its attacks. A number of goats where found with their blood drained and only three fang marks on their bodies. The local paper in Puerto Rico "El Vocero" reported that El Chupacabra had sucked five goats and twenty parakeets to death on Halloween 1995.
As of yet it was only thought that El Chupacabra attacked animals but there has been one case in Puerto Rico where a mechanic was brought into hospital for treatment to some claw marks on his abdomen. He claimed that he was attacked by El Chupacabra and that the creature looked like a tall gorilla-like beast. Witness accounts of what El Chupacabra actually looks like have varied as much as the theories into what the creature actually is and where it comes from.
The witness accounts into what the creature have varied from a giant walking lizard with wings to a panther-like creature with red eyes and a long snake-like tongue. Some eye-witnesses say that the Chupacabras doesn’t walk or run like other creatures but instead hops like a kangaroo and leaves a sulphur like stench where ever it goes. There have been many drawings and models produced as to what El Chupacabra looks like but El Chupacabra is yet to caught on video or with a camera so eye-witness accounts are the only source of visual information into what El Chupacabra actually looks like. Where El Chupacabra actually comes from leads to stranger theories put forth by the local people. Some people actually believe that El Chupacabra is related the UFO sightings in the area of Puerto Rico which have been on the increase. People are even speculating that El Chupacabra is a "pet" of aliens that once visited earth a long time ago and just left it here!!! But one theory actually points the finger of El Chupacabra at NASA. This is put forward by a person who claims that he has a friend and a relative working in NASA and that they confirmed the story of what happened in Chile:
During the second half of 1999 and the first half of 2000 there were a lot of strange animal massacres in the north of Chile. NASA has experimental Labs, in various isolated places in South America. Chile is no exception. It is said that most of the experiments could be carried out in America but if something goes wrong then the American people would be put at risk from the result of these failed experiments so they carry out certain experiments in third world countries and pay the local government a large amount of money to keep quite. This person then goes on to claim that El Chupacabra is nothing more than NASA experiment, a DNA experiment that went wrong.
The Chupacabra that was in Chile was big news and could been seen everyday on TV how people got together to fight this rare animal and protect their land, families and their live stock. However, this event died as fast as it happened. All of a sudden no one else heard about it no more. The TV News never reported another thing and the newspaper simply forgot it.
This person then claims that his friend in NASA said that they had recaptured it and that one man was even killed in the attempt. His relative then told him that NASA packed this thing up and took it somewhere else to continue their experiments.
Puerto Rico is not the only place where this strange event has been happening. According to Fortean TV Chupacabras has been striking at animals in Spain, Portugal, Mexico and even in the remote islands of Indonesia.
There are numerous news articles that can be found on the web that have been "lifted" from newspapers around the world.
The link below is to a news article that is taken from a newspaper in Mexico:

Fortean TV also have an article about the attacks mentioned earlier in Puerto Rico:

And finally properly the best site dedicated to the Chupacabra (if not a little incomplete and old!):

What does El Chupacabra look like? What are the origins of El Chupacabra? Is it an alien pet, a NASA experiment or is there a more logically explanation behind El Chupacabra? And does El Chupacabra actually exists? These are just a few questions that have been put forward and to me, none of them have been answered to my satisfaction. The only "hard" evidence that I have come across is the dead bodies of animals that have been drained of blood but now-a-days with all of the things that a determined human being can and knowing that his/her work might become famous throw the media I more proof. I hope one day all of my questions will be answered but for some reason I greatly doubt it.
