Title kind of says it all really. Iwata-san says the DS will have wireless network connections between one another. I'm happy, it should increase multi-player gaming as you dont have to buy and carry around those leads.

He also mentioned "the Nintendo DS will be innovative but not a huge seller". Didn't someone say a few weeks ago Nintendo was counting on this to sell very well or they'd be "crushed"? Guess they must have changed their minds quick. Another tidbit: "At the least, it should serve as a hint towards [our] next-generation console." I'm guessing at the very least he's talking wireless networking between GBA2s and N5s.. but I hope there's more.

The rest of the interview is usual Nintendo-spiel, that gamers don't want games with better graphics, etc. Well, it would be nice.

That seems to be logical.. Nintendo not wanting to focus on graphics: gameplay instead. But if the DS and PSP are released simultaneously, what is average Joe the casual punter going to think? PSP = better as it has better graphics. The DS would be slaughtered if Ninty didn't make the graphics as good as or better than that of the PSP's.

Releasing an empty box would be better than the N-Gage.

How the hell do you know the DS will have N64 graphics?

I iQue did, but that wasn't a handheld console, and the N-Gage only had PlayStation-esque graphics.

I would have thought more simplstic graphics would suit such a machine.

Man DS will be miles better than the GBA and the PSP!
N64 Graphics
Game Chips the size of a SIM card
Two Screens
Wireless Connectivity
A mario game already being made for it
Both screens back-lit

I covered this, and the entire issue of the DS and why it is being released in to the DS damage or whatever.
