Got Socom 2 this morning and tried a few times to set up the online stuff.

Took a while to get my cable in my room to work due to a dodgy connection piece but thats been sorted It logs on, authenticates the DNAS stuff and I can access the server list.

I enter a name and a password and when it asks if I want to register this new name it always fails.

Is it a new user name and password I enter or does it have to be one used for the central station stuff? I've been using a new name and password.

Anyone able to help on this?

Also anyone know any places that sell wireless connectors for the PS2 - I saw one in a PC magazine a while back but can't find the mag.

Thanks

Finally got it to log me in.
My username is Ali

BUT The cable in my room which connects me to the modem upstairs is broken. I have black electricians tape holding the wire into the extension and that connection seems to be comming loose all the time and logging me off the network.

Had a look on dabs but they want £60 for the wireless device that will let me play my PS2 through the wireless network.

Now I guess I have to shop around to try find a cheaper one or go about sorting the cables. Bah. Although it did work for when I played SOCOM a lot so I should try sort the cables first I guess.

Thanks, thought that might be the case so I'm just going to try get onto central station and find out what my username and password is.

P.S. if you have the letter 'B' in your username/password, use lowercase for it when logging into SOCOM 2.

SOCOM 2 only accepts Central Station Usernames and Passwords on the present server. So if you can login to Central Station, the same user/pass should work with the SOCOM 2 server.

Wireless bits and bobs you can get from www.dabs.com
