Could you tell me what you like about the PS2. It could be it's design, it's games, it's peripherals, its DVD, online, or anything.

Exactly.

It's inexcusable that Sony gave the machine just two controller ports, forcing us to buy an overpriced multi-tap for four person multiplayer. It's ridiculous that me and every single person I know has had their machine break beyond reasonable repair just after the warranty expires. The controller is just about usable - its poor design being based entirely around the dated D-Pad, the DVD Player is rubbish and the Tech Specs can't stand up to the GameCube or Xbox.

So why the hell do I keep it? So I can play the few decent exclusives it has left, such as Pro Evolution Soccer 3, Ico, Rez, Jak & Daxter, NBA Street and Devil May Cry. I'm a firm believer that games make a console worthwhile, but if you ask me about the PS2 by itself, it's rubbish.

But then if you're the sort of person who only buys a console based on if it looks 'cool' then you wouldn't buy any of the current gen consoles

Oh right. Yeah, the machine sucks. The way it looks sucks. But the game rule. :)

The new PS2s have much quieter fans than the older ones.How annoying is that!

Because we rarely talk about it.

Usually it's about the games the machine has to offer.

I like the games, especially the Final Fantasy series and the Metal Gear Solid series.

I keep mine for the games I play on it.
