I used to really like the Hardyz. They were faces, they did high spots, and Lita was SO hot. I would have gone so far as to say that they were my fave tag team in the WWF.
This was when I first got into wrestling, and I liked the Rock, I liked The Undertaker, and I despised Kirk Angel and Chris Benoit. I would believe everything that JR said. I was a complete mark.
Now that I know a hellava lot more about the WWF, I'm really starting to dislike the Hardy boyz + Girl.
Shock horror!
For a start, I've just realised Lita can't wrestle. Her moonsault is terrible compared to the likes of Essa Rios. The Twist Of Fate is hardly the most difficault of moves to pull off, and have you ever seen her do a ground move? I used to think she was bringing the womens division a step away from the dire 'Bra + Panties' scenarios and into proper wrestling. Now I know she isn't capable of that, because she can't wrestle.
Next - Matt.
His finishers are the aforementioned Twist Of Fate and a second rope leg drop.
Second Rope? Why does he not go to the top? Hell, even Hogan managed to get higher with his running leg drop.
Matt doesn't take risks. At all. He's the one who kneels down for the Poetry In Motion. He doesn't jump.
And thus, he is rather boring, because he either can't wrestle, or the WWF don't let him wrestle.
Speaking of risks.....Jeff Hardy, he of the absurdly coloured hair.
Don't get me wrong - I have the utmost respect for the bumps he takes. No-one else would be brave/stupid enough to put thier bodys on the line as he does. And he takes a chair shot properly, without putting his arms up.
But aside from the bumps he takes, what does he actually do? Wrestle? When was the last time you saw him do a solid, powerful looking move?
His Swenton looks terrible too, coz you can see he just rolls over the guy. And for some reason, he always preteneds to have hurt himself after doing it.
So theres my rant for the day over. Lets hope I get some intelligent replys.
When he first got this werid new gimmick, people thought it was a punishment for something he did on Metal. But now he's on TV so much he's becoming better known, despite not actually wrestling.
They can't really wrestle. But then again, nor can the Rock. But they are entertaining, due to the extreme bumps they take.
So they are good to watch, but not good wrestlers.
Cheese - Argueing against himself since 1987.
mC you have some good points there but i htink all wrestlers have there good and bad sides and even though they might not wrestle properly they are fum to watch in the great matches like TLC. and theyre my tag champs in SM2.
> Well Jeff takes chair shots well and i like his swanton.
I have never really noticed his Swanton. MC pointed out that he rolls on them. Well I can't see how anyone could pull of a Swanton bomb and not hurt anyone without it looking a tad fake.
He isn't cut out to be a wrestler. He is a high-flyer, he takes risks and he does it very well... I expect no more from him becuase anymore would be to much.
Maybe I think we are all getting bored of the WWF, I am starting to think it is not the same as it used to be. The womens divison has lost it for sure.... does anyone else agree with me?
