even though the new silver and aqua ps2's are cool, i still don't understand if when everybody bought a brnd new BLACK ps2, the company decided "i know, lets release a different colour console that everyone already has"

There are some small differences i think, and also not everyone has a PS2.
And it has a built-in infra-red reciever.
I think Silver PS2 has a less noisy fan.
