Got bored and wrote some poems one night before I slept. Can't remember my motivation, but think they kinda speak for themselves.

Familiar Words

I’m sorry if you like me,
I’m sorry if you care,
But I’m not meant to be with you,
We’re not supposed to pair.

I’m sorry you trust in me,
I’m sorry that you tried,
I wouldn’t be seen dead with you,
That would dent my pride.

I’m sorry you were moved by me,
I’m sorry I led you on,
Although we had a laugh,
It was always going to be a con.

I’m sorry for the days spent with me,
I’m sorry I made you broke,
Those gifts you bought me were lovely,
You really are a nice bloke.

I’m sorry if you’re upset by me,
I’m sorry I called you a gnome,
I give words to encourage you,
But you’ll always be alone.

I know you’ve heard these words before,
“No” and “no again”,
But look at your reflection in the mirror,
You know you can’t complain.

Jason Searle

One Day It Will Happen

One day it will happen,
Things are soon to be,
I’ll pick the right six numbers
And win the lottery.

One day it will happen,
After the things I detest,
I’ll learn to relax at the wheel
And pass my driving test.

One day it will happen,
By the laws of prob,
I’ll take the right opportunity
And get a fulfilling job.

One day it will happen,
Later on in life,
I’ll meet the most perfect girl
And she’ll become my wife.

One day it will happen,
As long as you avoid the skids,
I’ll become a great father,
And have several healthy kids.

One day it will happen, Jason,
Just you wait and see,
Take your time and enjoy your life,
You’ll be as happy as you could be

A sad one for being rejected for the umpteenth time and an optimistic one, looking forward to the future. See, I'm not all down and out!

Thanks drean.

Not sure if I have the time (or effort) to be able to write any more soon, but if I do I'll post them here. I'd need lots to do a book, but thank-you for the suggestion. Do you ahve any poemes you wish to share?

Makes me smile when I stumble across these poems...especially the last one...each time it crops up on a search result, life gives me one more from the wishlist.

Only the lottery and kids now (plus the marriage I guess)... Lottery win next please?

Wow, just googled my name and it came up with this thread. Age old.

In response to Ladybird, she didn't call me a gnome, but it was the closest I could get to "get away from me you hideous beast before I mace you"* that would fit in nicely with the poem.

*Of course that was made up

Actually, I think she may have called me a gnome.

EDIT: Haha, good to be optimistic - Passed my driving test now and not only that, I took the opportunity and hope to have a fulfilling job :p Just leaves, winning the lottery, getting married and having kids. Ah well 2/5 isn't too bad
