I remember those days on the mega drive. The sonic games for that were fantastic.
So sonic team, intead of making crappy 3D Sonics, make a Viewtiful Joe type sonic, a 2D eye candy master piece with plenty of platforming fun.
Food for thought.

I recently got Sonic R for the PC. It's great fun. In answer the unlocking of characters on it, you have to collect the 5 little icons around the level and when the race is finished, you race a hidden character.
The only reason I enjoyed Battle was the twisty-turny rollercoaster-esque Sonic and Shadow levels, and to be honest it's some of the best fun I've had on my Cube. Far from perfect, but a taste of what a true 3D SOnic should be like.
If you're going to make a triumphant leap back to 2D, you at least need to bring something new to it, something that a new Sonic game wouldn't do.
Or, going by how crap Billy Hatcher is, Sonic Team have just lost it.

I couldn't help but laugh at that comment.
He had no personality or character and hasn't developed at all since the first game.
Think about it!
