Peripheral manufacturer Mad Catz is to release Bioforce.

Bioforce is a PlayStation 2 controller that gives out mild electric shocks at key moments during play.

The idea is to temporarily paralyse the player's hands during in-game events such as a car crash or fighting sequence.

Mad Catz stresses it will carry out extensive medical testing before the product hits the market later in the year.

President Darren Richardson says: "Biostimulation of muscles has been around for years.

"It causes the muscles to contract and gives you a sensation that makes it difficult to move your hand. It really works well with fighting games."

Maybe they could do an all round body suit for fighting games!

Hit to leg: Mild numbing.
Hit to arm: Same.
Hit to middle section: Brief Heart Attack.
Hit to Head: Brain Damage, usuall temporary.
Hit to "other": Impotence.
