3rd Party developers!
Sony is such a friendly company whilst Nintendo alienate most of the gaming world Sony shake hands with 3rd party developers and gets them to work on their console Nintendo just moan at them! Capcom made Resident Evil 1,2,3 and survivor as well as Dino crisis 1 and 2 on the Playstation and what did Ninty get? An expensive re do of Resident Evil 2 and Capcom say they like Nintendo??????
Namco are also excellent, Tekken 1,2,3, the ridge racer and point blank series and what did Nintendo get? Ridge Racer 64 how sad! Ok so Nintendo do have 3rd party developers but compare the amount of 3rd party games on the 64 to the ones on the Playstation and you discover a huge gap between them!!!! Look at the GC games from 3rd party developers. There is a lot of speculation for the GC but it is the PS2 who has the wealth of the confirmed 3rd party smash hit titles.
Eidos, I might be wrong but I can’t name one N64 or Gamecube game made by Eidos! There were a few Tomb raiders on the Gameboy colour but Activision made them! Konami claim they are very close with Nintendo and what do they give them? Castlevania and Mystical Ninja whilst the Playstation enjoys Metal Gear Solid! And although Squaresoft claims they would love to work with Nintendo again I bet they won’t!
Namco promise three games but after that the amount they’ll produce will dwindle to one every few years whilst the PS2 will get four or five a year! So have your moment Nintendo smile hat more 3rd party developers are supporting you but watch in horror as Sony and their Playstation 2 get the 3rd parties better offerings! The PS2 with Timesplitters, Red Faction, Tekken Tag and soo many more is only the beginning of what the Playstation 2 and it’s third party support has to offer the world.
Devil May Cry, Metal gear solid 2, GTA 3, Resident Evil Code Veronica X, Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill etc, etc… look at the list and compare with the Gamecube’s 3rd party game list, Resident Evil 0 and Crazy Taxi wow sounds amazing!!!!! (Sarcasm doesn’t work in text Dringo)
This is about the PS2 though and their 3rd party support is second to none and is where Gamecube’s weakness lies and which has been and always will be Sony’s strength. So the PS2 can be happy as it gets more 3rd party games than anyone else.
The reason why? Playstation is a successful format and making a game for them is virtually guaranteed to sell well and so 3rd party developers are willing to take risks and release many games for the system, as the opportunity to make a large profit is a high possibility. The Gamecube meanwhile might well be a successful console but it might not! And so 3rd party developers are less willing to make games for the Gamecube due to Nintendo’s lack of popularity and unless Nintendo becomes huge very quickly it will be the PS2 that will stand above the rest with their large choice of quality games.
This will lead to the PS2 getting more money so they can spend more on advertisement, so they get more popularity and 3rd party developers develop more games so both Sony and the developers get more money, developers can afford larger projects and Sony can advertise more, it is a ruthless but successful circle.
Without 3rd party support Nintendo will always cower in Sony’s shadow and the PS2’s greatest area is indeed Nintendo’s poorest.
Here’s to the Playstation 2

Half of the 3rd party games turn out well bad and the good ones such as Resident Evil and Tekken and are games that are getting released on the GC. Nintendo have stunning 2nd party developers and Nintendo are well awsome.
The GC is also getting more than double nearly triple the ammount of 3rd party support and with 10 THQ games, 10 activision, 3 Namco, god knows how many Capcom, 12 Acclaim, huge ammounts of SEGA.
Nintendo are as good as they have always been and now well better.
Aha I have crushed another PS2 post even though i wrote it.
Nintendo RULE

Nice post. Await mine tomorrow. I've spent all the free time I have on it, but I still can't finish it yet. I've got an idea now and it's a fairly good one.
