Is it just me or is the sound on Gt3 horribly mixed?

I have sound effects only in gameplay and music only in replays because it just gives me a head ache and spoils the game when both are together.

Doesn't it?

Wookiee, a good 50% of the time when Im reading through peoples posts, I will be thinking of something constructive to say..... Then I come to your post and you have already said it.

Anyway. I totally agree, the main problem is the lack of actual control over volume settings.

hmmmm, try changing the volume offset on your sony TV. i usually have mine set at +7 and this usually results in crappy sound. but set it too 0 or below and the problem is solved.

It's a shame everyone is picking out bits that are bad in teh game instead of bits that are good. Yes, the game is not perfect in everyway but I think the cars look real, they handle real good, the computerised cars are good (sometimes when you slow down they push teh foot to the metal to overtake but only to realise they have just crashed into a wall)

I have not owned GT2, so i can not say if there is much difference between the two but I have had GT1 and I think it has greatly improved since. I think the most improved part is teh handling, but that's just IMO.

I don't think it's so much the 'mixing', but more the lack of volume controls for SFX and BGM.

I have a Sony Wega and while some tracks sound okay, others result in a real noise. So I have FX only during the race and music during the replay.

Can't remember the type, but the brand name is Panasonic, it's about 4 years old. I get the same issue with the other TV in the house though, which is a Sony Widescreen all singing and dancing, less than a year old type thing, playing through the Hi Fi as well.

It just seems to loose it's way every now and then, particularly when the engine sound is at lower frequencies. Not a real disaster as I don't mind not having the BPM switched off for either the game or replays, except for Death in Vegas, who rock.

You can alter what you want on and off in the options.

I think the music's a little quiet but it's great music nonetheless. Sometimes I turn the BGM off and put on Blink 182 when I need cheering up.

What I do is have the TV on silent and put some music on that I like. The only bad thing with this method is that you can not hear the car when it wheel spins or anything, but I can live with that.
