How can I fight a Floating Death in the Omega ruins ?

Excellent! Edit post worked! This could all get very mess though in arguments. You could say something, then get told that you're wrong, then go back and edit it - suddenly you could make yourself believe you were never wrong, even if everybody else knew you were. How strange!
The reason your message got messed up is that I left an italics tag open, so when you quoted my message, the whole lot got copied, and your text would have still been subject to the open italics tag, which made it like it is.
I put a backslash rather than forwardslash, which was stupid really. I've been doing a lot of programming for a project recently, which uses the backslash a lot more, so I got confused. Sorry! I might try and edit the post now, thanks to the advice of a fellow poster.

I find Tonberrys all the time. About every 100 fights in the ruins I find about one Floating Death.

That's a no! Okey doke, seems fair, just enough tags to keep things tidy, without messing the place up.
Does other stuff work like tables?
