I am in the unfortunate position of owning a PC with a PCI slot and no AGP!!!! I currently have a Hercules Radeon 9000 64MB card, it's been fine untill i have bought Farcry, I can get a few minutes into the game and the whole thing just freezes for minutes and is unplayable.
I have been looking for a new card but can find very few, there is an XFX GEFORCE FX 5200 128 MB PCI on this site, does anyone know, will this run farcry and is it any good?
Are there any other cards i should look at?
I didn't know much about computers b4 i bought this one so i never understood the consequences of getting a machine with a PCI and not AGP.
I can't afford a new one at the moment!!!!
Your help would be very, very welcome -
Thanks.
Mark
I may give it a try.
Thanks for all your help!!!!
Good retailers to buy from
this site (Special Reserve)
In the future you can buy at the least a new motherboard with AGP slot and graphics card to run the game better.
However, I'm making an exception just for you. I would imagine the Geforce FX5200 PCI would improve frame rates, but not by much. At £70, it's your cheapest option.
You could try other things before running the game - defragging your HD, running scandisk, closing background programs before running, and turning down the resolution and all details the low at the start of the game.
