Exactly 1 year ago and so many day's a thing was being designed in the lair of the Miyamoto (nintendo) enterprise. Yes we remember it very well the so called "Dolphin". In magazine's across the world were question's asked about it's facility's like:
"How will the Dolphin use the power of the internet to it's full advantage, and how do you think the internet will improve the quality of nintendo gaming??".
Rumour's of DVD....the internet..maybe a network were swivelling about the PAL and NTSC country's. Everyone wanted to know how it would work, how much it would cost and most of all how well it would compete in the gaming world!!!

6 month's or so later the publicity of nintendo spreaded through E3 and game convention's,people were saying of a different name for this so called "Dolphin". About 2 month's after this it was finalised it would be called the "Gamecube". Which used CD's instead of cartridge's for two reason's:
1.The games would be atleast 20% cheaper.
2.The overall price of the gamecube would come down about £50 or $100.
The gamecube attribute's (facility's) would be:
A fixed laser (so it could play Maybe DVD's and surely music CD's and Nintendo (gamecube) games.
------
Maybe a later release of a Web browser (probably in the package a highley expensive ISP to go with it).
------
A compatible contoller which could be a game boy advance (like with the dreamcast's Virtual memory).
------
A year from now there shall be Microsoft's X Box, a more wider range of undoubtly good hardware for the playstation 2 and the gamecube. Most people think that the gamecube will be like the release of the playstation 2 (delayed and expensive but soon after the release it will soon get off the ground). I think that with the rumour's going around about Nintendo buying Sega it shall be a hit. But if the rumour is a false alarm (it might aswell hide in the cupboard with most other console's bowing down to Bill Gate's and his X box). Because surely with old Mr Gate's money his X box will either be good and will go to the top or will either be bad and have a good chance of going to the top, i worked this out because of all the money the X Box will have to fall back on!!!!

the only ads for the DC i ever saw were he 6 billion players one. they did try though, gettin there name on the arsenal shirt and i saw it as a sponsor on MTV.

I think the arsenal thing was a bad idea though, as some hardcore supporters may not want anything associated with arsenal.

There was only one problem with the Dreamcast - Sega couldn't market the thing. It had lots of quality software and hit the market at the perfect time - before everyone else.

If Sega could have mustered up a half deceint marketing campaign for the thing it would still be with us today.

I would get an x-box if I could fit it through my door!

Joke, is it rather large don’t you think? But its what counts on the inside yes? It could be as small as a matchbox but with no hardware it would be useless. On the other hand it could be as big as my house and feature all the technology in the world inside it.

If it has good games at a good price and it has lots of future release games I would buy it.

(Except I’m buying a GameCube instead)

Lets just wait and see but I would still bet on Nintendo but hell it’s Microsoft’s first time in the console market and who know what the future holds?

Its will either be an amazing success or an absolute shambles. I don’t have the feeling it will be ok. Bit like Dreamcast, great games but not enough of them. It also came in at a bad time because everyone was waiting for PS2. Maybe if it came in at a better time? It could have been a huge success.

Lets hope that Sega learn from their mistakes and will get it right someday.

I don't think that Nintendo are buying Sega but they're clearly working very close together.

I've yet to hear Sega announce an original game for another system other than the Gamecube.
I might be wrong though...

If so inform me.

I'm willing to bet a lot of money that it's not true.

Nintendo buying Sega. I haven't seen this rumour anywhere. I doubt it's true.

I like Microsoft (their software is widely used) but I'm not sure if they're right for the console market.

They don't seem to have enough supporters right now...

MS can't accept defeat though - they'll probably waste all their cash (hopefully) trying to make it an artificial success.
