Yep, no more LIVE updates for any XSN games until the Spring of 2005. Don't know if any of you saw this officially announced yesterday but there will be no downloadable updates for Top Spin, Amped 2, Links 2004 or the Ice Hockey and American football. Rallisport is going ahead as planned but once released there will be no updates until Spring next year.

Well and truly urinated on.

It was all quoted from a conference in the states, it wasn't made up by Channel 4 or anything dodgy like that.

I wanted to see more content for both on and offline Links. Really enjoyed that game, one of my favourites on the Xbox.

The Links courses have been set back anyway after the reaction they got after announcing $5 a course for Links with dollar to pound rate being the same. I was hoping they would get a few more courses out.

It's not downloadable content they're talking about. They won't be doing any 2005 updates as they realise that the majority of the games released last Xmas weren't up to scratch, this could mean no more Links, amped et all until Xbox 2.

There'll still be downloadable content released for the current games.

We'll see. I'm more inclined to belive IGN over Channel 4, seeing as it was said in an interview with IGN.

Still, how much more content would you need for Links?

Ye its not new games I am interested in but rather new downloads for the current games. The article of Channel 4 said that there would be no more updates for the major LIVE titles with RalliSport 2 being their only new games this year. I'm not fussy about new games but rather some content actually worht downloading and by the sounds of it they aren't going to bother.

And IGN's take: http://xbox.ign.com/articles/503/503517p1.html?fromint=1

Nothing about no more content, just no more games for another year.

Rallisport challenge is the only one I'm really interested.

Sports games on live do hold a certain appeal, offline I wouldn't bother though.

It clearly said no more updates for current XSN games. The examples named were Amped 2, Top Spin and Links but they said amongst others. It was in effect as of yesterday apparently. Hope it isn't true as Links is one game I am definitley buying back.

No no, if you look more closely, it says they aren't doing a FIFA. No more new games until 2005. They just released a new course for Amped 2 last week.

Something about XSN being well received but not up to the standards of some other series. Amped isn't considered a yearly series anyway, ditto for Rally Championship and Top Spin. Only means that they will start from scratch on the next NHL and NFL etc games.

But Live content is still about.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
