There's a loose storyline - you appear be some form of foreign body attempting to infiltrate a system. Your enemies are essentially this system's "anti virus software", as it tries to destroy you or shut you down within it. Funnily enough, you have to get in, kill the bad guys, get the girl (she's trapped inside the system), and get out. But that's generalising a ridiculous amount - Rez is so much more than its loose plot.
The addictive, energetic and pacey style ensure it's incredibly fun to play and you won't leave it alone even after it's completed. The extra features such as Direct Assault, Lost Area and Boss Attack and unlockables also add an extra few hours onto the lifespan. One of the better titles on PS2 - 8/10.
