Argh! Away for so long, back snappy, happy - writing about cycling.

I love it, maybe you do to? Maybe you want to do it? Maybe you're scared of cycling in public? Don't be, read and start living!

Cycling is an excellent way to improve your level of fitness, lose a bit of weight, have a good time at the same time as partaking in a hobby with friends. That's why I'd recommend cycling to you all.

Fitness. Cycling is one of the lowest impact sports around, so basically anyone can partake in it - you won't damage yourself easily, so you should remain injury free. If you are concerned about your fitness level, and what to improve then you should consider cycling. As many more paths are being layed out across Britain, we are set for an onslaught of cycling! And that is good.

It's good for the environment, so the more people cycling the better - if you can cycle to work instead of using a car then do so. Make sure your bike is in good heed - get on yer bike!

Losing weight? Many people are weight concious, and some of us want to lose weight now and then, so why not cycle? I have personally lost about 30lbs from cycling over the past 3 months so I can actually say it does help and I hav seen the difference. However, make sure you can afford smaller clothes! It's not overly strenuous, there are loads and loads of places to cycle, use the roads if need be, but believe me - cycling rocks. It's wonderful.

Socialising? It's not all that much fun to cycle all on your own, and if you did get into trouble then you may find you become stuck somewhere for a long time, so I strongly advise you to cycle with a friend or more - help eachother, gain confidence - it really does help! You'll feel so much happier with yourself and cycling in pairs or more is great fun. Do it!!!

Serious cyclists are not what we all aspire to - but that doesn't matter. You can ride as far as you like, but apply principles of training if you have a set target - i.e. don't suddenly start off with a 30km cycle when you haven't even seen a bike in like 40 years, so start off with a short distance, progress, and you'll feel happy.

My advice? DON'T PUT IT OFF!!

Cycle away.

Happy happy happy

I love cycling! Trouble is, all my mates are too lazy and drive everywhere, so I've no-one to cycle with!

I cycle to and from work Monday to Friday - not too far, but it's a good few miles every week.

Good - cycling helps me relax too, but if you're cycling and too relaxed, it could be fatal! Be careful!!
