"Not Impressed by Galleon..."

Well, considering that I'm a skeptic to a lot of things in this planet, I was just as skeptical about Galleon for the Gamecube as anything else but Galleon really bit the bullet.

On Game Network, they showed some clips of it and was very disappointed. I've heard good comments about it from people on the forums but I now must say that they musn't have seen extensive footage, like I have. Then again, it is just a personal preference.

The first thing I noticed about this was the graphics. They are terrible. However, a game is not all graphics, some consider it a delightful bonus but terrible graphics coming from a console with power meant to surpass all other companies. I saw clips of the Star Wars game on the Gamecube and I thought that the graphics were better than anything I have ever seen in my life. Then, I compare it to Galleon and Star Wars wins, hands down! When Star Wars and Galleon are put to comparison, Galleon is like a Playstation Game. I expected a LOT more detail in the graphics. The graphics seemed very reminiscent to Monkey Island 4, with no clothing detail. However, again, much like Money Island 4, the backgrounds were far more impressive.

This coming from the creator of Tomb Raider? I would have never thought so. Lets just hope that the Tomb-Raider-esque storyline makes up for thr "poor" graphics. The storyline is almost a duplicate, get into the place, grab the artefact, kill anything that gets in your way and get out. Simple stuff, right?

Knowing the amazing potential that all 4 Tomb Raider's had and delivered, lets just hope that Galleon will follow suit and be anoter great delivery.

Personally, I think that the game will be overhyped. I also think that it will do well but not as well as expected. Remember, the feelings expressed in this post are personal opinions of myself.

Galleon over hyped?

ALthough it is from the makers of tomb radier it hasnt been that hyped.

I think it looks swish!

I do have some idea of how they're gonna play though, I've downloaded all the video's for them from E3.

It does look awesome in my opinion, which is why I chose it!

It's quite funny when I thik about, I've chosen 5 GC games for GAD wins and on what basis? Hype!!!

I've seen screenshots of the PC version and it looks fantastic. PErhaps the videos looked poor because they were in a low resolution?

Also, don't expect it to be like Tomb Raider, it's said to be different, but they didn't say how.

I guess we'll know more when it's released.

Wouldnt graphical touches be one of the last things on the agenda when writing a game?

do they not have much time left?

I thought that Galleon looked great, and the PC version!
