I was pondering questions when I came across the question "Is Gaming Fair?". Quite an odd question in it's own right, correct? When gaming began, was it fair?

I say, ofcourse. All game companies were jolly and "fair". Anybody who's anybody enjoyed games. It wouldn't take long before the gaming industry would get ugly, very ugly!

Is gaming fair now?

I say, hell no! all gaming companies are vying for your "well spent" small fortune. Game companies will almost go to any lengths to gain a sale. However, as the old saying goes, "nothing in life is fair" . As for gaming, it's not fair in the slightest. If it was, everyone in the world would get a game released on the same day and not in Japan first. Prices would be more reasonable and we wouldn't be treated unfairly by developers and console makers.

What's next?

Imagine if gaming companines used Sumbliminal Advertising? This would reek havoc worldwide. Thank god it's been banned for over 20 years!

Surely gaming is a personal choice, correct? Whether you decide to buy a game is up to you. It sounds like someone is denying us something. Well, maybe gaming will be made compulsary through illegal subliminal advertising. So, as for now, it's a personal choice about gaming 'and if you dont like it, lump it!'

You really need to look at this in a way that not all people are the same. I mean what do you look for in a game:

Good gameplay?
Ideal plot?
Superb graphics?
Original design?

Well I have to say it depends where you are in the world. In Japan it seems that gamers love fictional adventure games and RPGs and to be able to finish games and have the feeling of money well spent. So does this mean that developers make games shorter in game length? Thus churning games out quickly? Do they perhaps tweek the games to make them easier? Again they are compleated faster and new projects go underway?

In Europe and the far west games have a wide audience mayhaps weighing towards sport and stratagy games more so the market is easier here and thus profit for companies grow well. Sport games for example can earn lots of money and sometimes the little effort in creating these genres of games can be laughable. I mean compare this to a RPG, sport games like football for instance does'nt last for very long. A quick blast on this is excellent and is good for multiplayer, a RPG lasts long, okay some RPGs last too long but thats not the point, value of money is what we are talking about. Then there are games which can be said to be worse than sport games, like beat'em ups but I won't get into that.

You talk about Sumbliminal Advertising yes this would be a serious force if it was allowed but besides who needs it when hyping up a game is so much easier and low costing! As it has happened to a lot of games.

Subliminal advertising isn't illegal in games, though it is on television. It is also a lot less effective than you seem to think. A race of company loyal brand zombies cannot be created though subliminal advertising.

Gaming is not fair for the little companies that suffer because they release a great game but its overshadowed by a promoted game... sadly the small company is then normally left to 'get lost' or quickly brought out by the larger companies....

The gaming industry is a volatile place, where one companies success can mean anothers fall.

Sadly nothin can be done to prevent this, I suppose the court case against Microsoft was great for little companies but since the appeal I see no future for fair play in the gaming world.
