Today I set up and bought a web domain, including e-mail ( webmail anywhere) and Instant Site pro.

I am having trouble setting up my e-mail account with windows (live) mail. earlier in the day i set up the e-mail account with outlook on my lap top. This seemed to function correctly. I would however prefer if it worked on outlook express on my home computer. I followed the online guide however when ever i send an e-mail the following error is displayed:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject test x, Account: mail.freeola.net, Server: smtp-auth.freeola.net, Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

it then disconnects me from the internet.

Am I missing something simple or can I only have 1 e-mail client set up with my e-mail account?

Please contact me as soon as possible

Kind Regards

Richard

I don't know Hmmm... the customer did not send any more information.

The logs I'm referring to are server logs. And they show sending has been successful since the time of this post :S

So this could be using another client or even the Webmail. Guess we won't know unless the client comes back to us :)

It would be good to know (for the benefit of the forum) what the resolution was.

i.e. 'authentication option' or issues with port 25.

The customer does indeed have Email Freedom on the email address in question.

From some recent logs I can see it appears the issue has been resolved. So hopefully we can draw a successful line under this one.

Hi Warhunt - good spot! Sorry about that.

Hopefully the OP will come back to say how they are getting on...
[s]Hmmm...[/s]

EDIT: Can you tell if the OP has 'email freedom' ?

Just to clarify it's "Email Freedom" that you need :D

You should be fine with the advice that's been offered so far however, so let us know if you have any other problems.

Welcome to the forums r.payne.

Let's tackle one issue at a time,

The error you are getting suggests that you (via a firewall or other security program) or your ISP is blocking the sending of mail via port 25. This can easily be remedied by altering the port number to 2025. If you are using Windows Mail you can change this within the 'Advanced' tab of the account settings page.

This can be access from the menu bar across the top of the program. Select Tools, then Accounts. Click on your e-mail account from the on screen list then select Properties, finally in the new window click on the Advanced tab across the top. The Outgoing (SMTP) port field should be obvious on this page.

As for the disconnecting issue, it sounds to me as if you have told your mail client to disconnect from the internet after sending/receiving. This can be changed from the Options menu within the program by clicking the Connection tab and 'un-ticking' the option that reads Hang up after sending and receiving.

Hope this fixes your issues!

Hi and welcome to the forums!
You can use as many email clients as you like with Freeola.

From the error you've posted it doesn't look as if you have checked the 'My server requires authentication' option on the server tab in Outlook Express.

[s]Hmmm...[/s] My Freeola Instant Site

EDIT: and it shouldn't disconnect you from the internet!? Have you got OE setup to disconnect after doing a send/receive perhaps?

EDIT2: I've just re-read your post and am a bit confused whether you are having the problem with Windows Mail or Outlook Express but the answer could still be the same.
Looking at the products you've signed up for you mention 'webmail anywhere'. Webmail is obviously where you access your mail via Freeola's Webmail interface rather than using a separate email client. To use the 'smtp-auth' server you will also need 'web freedom' unless it comes with your Freeola services.
