Radiohead's KID A should be in the running as well.

Sorry Mr Neil i hope that Radiohead don't win, I want Turin Brakes to win.

But i am very happy that Hearsay's album was not voted as one of the best albums of the year. As it is complete rubbish!

SFA is great but Turin Brakes i don't think have been given the credit for great songs and the Mercury Music Awards would give them credit.

Although i would not mind SFA winning as they are Great!

The only problem is SFA have been around for a while now.. Mercury tends to try and promote 'new' acts as it were and I doubt SFA need the publicity. On musical, directional and revolutional(?) grounds my money is still on them though.

The Elbow is fantastic and it would be remarkable to see that win.
But I think Radiohead will win it, because it is a very very good album.
I would also like to see the Furries win it, the album is good, but not groundbreaking though.
I haven't heard much of Turin Brakes, so I can;t form a well rounded opinino for them.
The Gorrilaz album is good, but some of the tracks are simple albun fillers with nothing special.

Ah well, let's see what happens yeah?

oooh, and has anyone seen the Knives out video, man it's strange!

I suspect PJ Harvey has a good chance of winning.

Not bad odds at 7:1 either.....

I hope Gorillaz win, purely because of the fact that it would make a mockery of all of the other contenders. I imagine Radiohead wouldn't really care if they won, which they won't.
