Will we ever see what most would call a perfect game? I know there are alot of top class games
on the market but someone out there seems to always find flaws with them. But will we ever see
a "perfect game".
Gran turismo 3 has just arrived in the UK and is hugely popular with PS2 owners but compared with GT2 there are not many big changes. The graphics and gameplay have been improved but the number of cars reduced.
Soon Metal Gear Solid 2 will be out and from what has been seen on demos and previews it looks stunning. But will it be perfect? Also the GameCube and X-Box will be out at the start of next year and no doubt we will see good games on them. The problem is some games suit some people but not everyone. So maybe we will never see a perfect game as surely to be perfect it would have to suit everyone.
Do you think there will ever be a perfect game?

There will never be such thing as a perfect game simply because of tha fact the technology is always getting better. I can remeber when Mario 64 was first released and SR gave itn a rating of 100%, indicating that it was the perfect game. At the time it looked as though the score was ok but looking back at it now we see that Mario 64 was far from perfection. I think that you can call a game perfect at the time of release but this will only be a temporary title for the game. : )

Nope.
Well, as you say, not perfect for eveyone anyway. Peoples preferences are generally different.

You might be able to get a perfect game within a specific genre.

But it wouldn't be perfect for everyone.

Maybe if a game genre was created that catered for everyones needs (what it would be is a mystery to me) and then had endless scope for customization for the specific player???

Time will tell (rather a lot of it I would've thought)
