Christian + Hedge VS Mike Awesome + Forest Gump
Despite it being a fued over the word 'awesome', this was a supurb match. It had some sweet moves - Christians slide into the ringpost and the spear halfway through the Awsomebomb being the most memorable. The teams were given a surprisingly long time for an opening match, but it certainly paid off. The crowd were really hot for this match - shame they couldn't have kept it up throughout. Good clean finish as well.
Most memorable moment - Christian messing up the Poetry In Motion.
Nick Patrick vs. Earl Hebner w/Mick Foley as special ref
Fun match - certainly a good choice to put it after the E+C match. Good to see Earl finally getting some recognition. Once again, Foley had to get involved for no apparent reason. Don't get me wrong - Foley is God in the ring, but its real cheap having him doing all this non-wrestling stuff.
Most memorable moment - Earls pathetic spear.
APA vs. O'Haire and Palumbo
Really bought me down. Terrible. Really boring, with a pants ending.
Most memorable moment - Ummm....er.....The trailer?
Kidman vs. X-Pac
lol - X-Pac still gets booed even as a face. A bit of a let down, with a few nice bits, but overall a bit too slow. If they had done everything without the rest breaks in between, it would have been a very nice match. Crowd was against X-Pac, as always, but Kidman didn't really get any pops.
Most memorable moment - The top rope X-Factor reversal thingy.
By this point in the PPV, I was a bit down. I can accept the referee match being pathetic, but the others...
Raven vs. William Regal
Ah, here we go. I had thought this would be good - Raven is good, Regal is better. Unfortunatly, they really didn't seem to gel at all. They weren't helped by the crowd, who didn't cheer or boo Regal. They just sat on thier hands. Run in ending as well, which I hate.
Most Memorable Moment - A pinning sequence during the middle of the match.
Big Show, Billy Gunn and Albert vs. Hugh Morrus, Kanyon and Shawn
Billy Gunn performed the best in this match. Which shows it was terrible. Fortunatly, also short, so the Big Toe didn't even get tagged in :)
Most memorable moment - The 3 man Guerilla Press at the start.
By this point, I thought the PPV was awful. One good match out of 6.
Tazz vs. Tajiri
Brilliant. Absoloutely great. Tajiri really is good. The Poison Mist is a great special - it can be done at any time.
Most memorable moment - Tajiris Irish Whip reversal.
WWF Hardcore Title
Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy (c)
Classic. Although the ladder spot wasn't that good, the rest of the match really showcased these two. RVD is a God. No-one was expecting a match this good.
Tag Team Bra and Panties Match
Lita and Trish vs. Torrie and Stacy
After worrieing if C4 would censor this all night, I was a bit left down at how little we did see. Nowhere NEAR as nice as the Summerslam match last year.
Inaugural Brawl
DDP, Booker T, Dudley Boyz, Rhyno vs. Austin, Angle, Undertaker, Kane, Jericho
Jesus, was this boring. Just a half hour of typical tag team fighting, with a few table spots. The Austin turn didn't surprise me at all. A terrible finish, especially with JR overselling it.
OVERALL
An OK Event. The middle was very poor, and the main event left a lot to be desired. 3 good matches out of the ten. However, 2 of them were very good - The hardcore one and the E+C one.
7/10 on the cheeseometer.
