I am currently getting things in Bikanel Desert for the Machine Faction's Experiment. What do you do after that? I am thinking of just skipping some of the missions and jumping into a hole to complete the game (I have only completed 53%) but I don't think that I am strong enough at the moment. My stats are like this:
YUNA - Lv. 48
HP: 3202/3202
MP: 72/72
Dressphere: Alchemist
RIKKU - Lv. 49
HP: 3178/3178
MP: 87/87
Dressphere: Gunner
PAINE - Lv. 49
HP: 3229/3299
MP: 89/89
Dressphere: Gunner

I just battered Humbaba then I beat Machina Panzer so that is Thunder Plains completed for me. My guys are at LVL. 68, LVL. 71 and LVL. 72 and are all Lady Luck. They all have 4500+ health and I have mastered The Warrior dressphere for all and the White Mage dressphere for Yuna. I have done the music puzzle in the heart of the Farplane and I thinking if I should go in and kill Vegnagun straight away. I have completer 55% of the game. Yay me!

The final level is in the Besaid Temple.
Well I just jumped into a hole at the beggining of chapter5. Does it make a difference where you jump in? I went in at the Djose Temple.
Fook that.
It takes ages to learn the Gun Mage dressphere as you have to have every move in 'Blue Bullet' if you want 100%.
Im at about level 40 for everyone now and I have mastered Paine's warrior and Yuna is on the last thing for Gun Mage. Also Paine has been training up for Alchemist so I cant wait until im going to be using spare Mega-potions that I *Cough* Tucked away.
