i'd rather play mature PS2 titles instead of collecting coins of a toilet
1. Games - Here is one reason why the PS2 is a brilliant console - the brilliant games. At the moment, there is Red Faction, Onimusha, SSX, Quake 3 and the recently released GT3 amongst other, and there are tonnes more as well.
There is still MGS2, which, although will not be released till the end of the year, lookds and plays absolutely brilliant. There are games like The Getaway and GTA3, to keeps those crime gaming fans happy. There is Stuntman, from the makers of the Driver series. You also have Sega making games for them as well, with Virtua Fighter 4 the one I am most looking forward to. This will go head-to-head with Tekken $ from Namco.
As I said, there are tonnes of brilliant games, and what I have just mentioned is only a handful of games, there are many more.
2. Online - By the end og the year, two things will be available for PS2 owners. Broadband trials would have been carried out, aswell as Sony's Ethernet/56K Modem Network Adapter. The future of multiplayer gaming on the PS2 is really looking bright.
3. DVD - At the moment, the PS2 is the only console that has DVD playback. The Gamecube will not have this, and with the Xbox, you will need to spend more money to purchase the drivers that will enable the Xbox to play movies.
4. The Price Drop - This is quite an important reason really. Recently, the price of the PS2 dropped by £30. Not much I know, but it is a start. It has now gone back up to £299, but with the brilliant GT3. Brilliant package if you ask me.
5. Hard Disc Drive - This will slot into the back of the PS2 and will give an extra 40Gb storage space. This could enable us to download movies and demos and new levels and a lot more. This should be big.
There you go. Five reasons that I can think of that makes the PS2 a brilliant console.
If you've got the cash, why not get a PS2 while you wait for the others to come out? I'm sure you wouldnt have a problem selling it on if you changed your mind...
Though I love my PS2 and wont be selling mine...
