I sit here, in silence. The breeze through the branches keeps my eyes open as I stare at the computer screen, clicking. Refresh. Refresh. Nothing.

I leave my desk, light a cigarette* and get a coke from the fridge. Refresh, refresh...

I read through past forums. People choosing their GADs and asking for advice. This name keeps coming up. GT3. I look through the GAD winners list, and its riddled with GT3. I go to the reviews and its flooded with GT3. I read a few, and the light dawns. Some great new game has sapped the forums of posters. Some game has come along, and people don't want their little chats anymore, they're all playing this game.

I click refresh a few more times. Surely it's not that good? Surely there are people that havent got the game and are sitting at their PC's like me? Refresh...refresh...

Theres a slight noise as the post comes through the door. With the hope of some junkmail I leave my PC and head to the door. Theres a package. Intrigued, I throw the junkmail aside, and start on opening the package. A letter from SR. "Congratulations. You won GAD. Here is your prize - GT3!" Without a second to lose the PS2 is showing its intro screen. The blue sheen of the disc tantalises as it dissapears into the black box, and then the world stops. All thoughts empty from my head as I am sucked into the dreamworld of fast cars and the smell of petrol. Its beautiful, I think to myself, as another hour passes by as if it wasn't there.

And as the disc spins and I wait for the next track to load, I think for a brief second of the other people out there, sat at their PC's, clicking on refresh...refresh..

I don't sit at my PC pushing refresh - I sit and press stop as countless porn windows pop up into my screen.
