Good point, although the "print this page" button is well suited to windows opened using JS anyway, if all the buttons and all wern't on that window...

Why not just press the 'Print' button in your browser? Or go to File|Print...? And the only way to make the link functional would be to use JS, which would reduce compatibility with some browsers, and would only work in browsers which support printing, which will presumably have a 'Print' button on the toolbar...

How about a link at the bottom of the page that says "Print This Page"

I think that would be really useful

The URL mouseover effect doesn't actually have anything to do with Javascript...normally! The easiest way to do it, is by using something called a Cascading Style Sheet, aka CSS.

CSS is a brilliant way to add the effect of animation to a site, and improve visibility, without using masses of code. It's not just limited to links either, CSS can be used to "define" the style (font, size, colour, positioning, flow, and many more!) of any element in an HTML page!

CSS is viewable in all the current major browsers, although some features are ignored by certain browsers, ie the link rollover effect isn't visible in Netscape 4.x or earlier.

For a tutorial on how to create the text rollovers, check out http://www.htmlgoodies.com/ beyond/rollover.html (remove space!)

For other tutorials on the other aspects of CSS check out http://www.htmlgoodies.com/ beyond/css.html (remove space!)

Hope this helps,

Something I have seen on lots of other websites is when you go over a link it changes colour or they put a line under the word. I think this would be good on the SR website for the links at the top of the page (cheats, chat etc.) because it acts like an animation but doesnt take up any download time.

I know i've talked about them, but does anyone know where you can get the script from (I assume its javascript that makes it work)?

Thanks

I wouldn't mind something like a user Ad exchange program. Where people with Web Sites on Freeola, put in some extra code whicn show's ad's for other peoples Web Sites, and you can include your own, so it's on other sites to.

Personally I think the website kicks a**, its easy to navigate, the colour scheme seems pretty cool, the forums are easy to use, the staff listen to you (hence the new webdesign forum - cheers tony)

The only thing I can think of that may benefit SR is for them to create an affiliate program where people can sell SR products on their website and they get a percentage sale or free game etc. An example of this is www.kitbag.com, a sports website that gets other people to sell there stuff, and you get up to 20% of the sale.

Cant think of anything else at the moment, which is probably a good thing for SR!
