I'm rebuilding a pc from scratch, and need some to make sure it's robust.

Yup.

It's actually pretty useful. I had a pain in the aris one at work, which kept crashing at random times for no particular reason. Once soak tested, it showed up that the gfx card was dicky, and once a certain area of memory way accessed, it went belly up.
BurnInTest is quite expensive for what it is, but I’ve got a work licence for it. May consider getting a home one.
Sounds good, I might have to get hold of said software for the next time I make a computer...
> What does 'soak test' software do
Runs the PC at a heavy load for a certain amout of cycles or for an amount of time. Tests everything simultaniously (bwuh!? can't spell) to ensure that the system is stable.
Cpu maths
Cpu MMX
Memory writes
Video memory testing
floppy disk
Network
cd / dvd
sound playback
As well as some others. If the pc is likely to fall over, it'll fall in less than a few hours using this software. Seems stable so far. Wahay!
Not freeware, but If it's up to scratch, I'll purchase.
