Much to my surprise (and delight), Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life dropped through my letter-box (and onto my yapping dog's head! ;D ) this morning! :D

On the back of the box, however, I noticed this:

"Note: A basic reading ability is neccesary to fully enjoy this game."

What exactly do they mean by this? Why does Harvest Moon appear to be the only game available with such a 'Note'?

Are they implying that we - as GameCube-owners - cannot read or something? Is it just a cheap and cheeky shot of their own at how "Nintendo games iz 4 kiiids!!1!!11".... ?

Or, am I just a bit P'd-off because I don't have a free (and truly reliable) memory card on me to play this game with right now, after my local SR store (Bristol) had only gone and put up a 'duff' box on the shelves when I went in on Tuessday (and now, I'm waiting for one to be delivered)... :P

On a more serious note: Where is the "Only for Nintendo GameCube" sticker on the front of the game's DVD-like case?

Why does it suspisciusly mention "Exclusively for NINTENDO GAMECUBE!" only when mentioning the game's GBA-link-up features?

Please, don't tell me this game is gonna be ruined with an over-commercialised PS.2 release also, is it?? :S

And my US Pokémon Sapphire.

I definately would say the Pokémon games and Harvest Moon have the same if not more appeal to adults than kids.

I know, but you've got to admit it feels, y'know, 'special' to have a game as individual as this one that the idioitic crap-lovin' PS.2-owners cannot get their hands on without buying a GameCube. :)

Wants something goes commercial, it's never the same again (just look at any "innovative" music band when they finally came out of the woodwork).

How would you feel if Mario or Zelda were multi-format, with all those others getting their grubby little hands on them? :P

It may not "belong" to Nintendo but I certainly feel it's 'right' on the GameCube and GameBoy Advance only.

And thank you, Icaruss. I get the message now (I think...). :)

And agai I say that neither does FF to the PS. HM: Wonderful Life is exclusive, its' history is irrelevant.

It was the same with Pokemon Yellow for the GB (the US version anyway). I think it's because the game is aimed at youngsters - (3+), and because it requires application of the language to proceed (another words, text heavy) that it is used.

That last comment says a lot about you. The game would be ruined by being sold in large numbers? Rrright.

Anyway... Harvest Moon, as discussed on another thread, has had Playstation releases in the past. It does not 'belong' to Nintendo.
