Hi,

Has anyone out there chipped their PS2 yet to allow it to play games from USA and Japan ?
I have a friend who has done this recently and so far he has had no problems at all.
He can now import games from certain web site (illegal I'd say) where you can buy games for only $6 !!
He has had no problems with the games either.

Now I'm considering doing the same, after all paying around £5 instead of £40 is a big difference (8 games for the price of one).

On the other hand I don't agree with game piracy and I do feel that it can affect the videogame industry in a very negative manner. (Then again , the music industry hasn't exactly collapsed due to this has it ?).

Tricky decision to make really isn't it ?

Also, I don't want to risk wrecking my PS2 by tinkering around inside it (although I am a qualified electronic engineer so I reckon that's not a big problem). But I'm wondering has anyone else out there had any experience with this area ?

By the way Special Reserve, apologies for pointing out ways to get cheaper games in your chatboard.
In my opinion you have an excellent service (especially since I live in a part of Ireland where it is very difficult to actually get games).

I feel that the whole piracy issue is something worth discussing here in this forum.

Try looking back on some of the older topics, this whole issue has been covered already and one that'll keep going for ages!

No I haven't chipped my PS2 and am not even considering it, I've been through all that with my mate telling me to chip my PSx so that I could get pirate copies....basically told him to p*ss off, if I want a game I'll save for it and am not really worried about waiting for a games release date!

Although that last statement is probably in contradiction to what I've posted on GT3 topics etc....still you all know what I mean!!

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
Thanks!
Thank you for dealing with this so promptly it's nice having a service provider that offers a good service, rare to find nowadays.
