Ok, this isn't in the review section because it isn't a review, more of a "What the f..." question.
Who else has seen this?

Wanted to watch it at the cinema, but never got round to it, so got it on DVD this weekend.
Well...I did enjoy it until the end.
I wasn't that keen on Sixth Sense, guessed the "twist" so didnt bother watching it for months and months later on video.
Ok film, well written but all leading up to the surprise.

Did look forward to this one, being a huge Samuel L fan and a bit of a Bruce Willis fan too.
To me, this was well written etc, well directed with some cool shots (a scene reflected in a tv screen) but has to be one of the most badly paced movies I've seen in a long time.
I wont bother with rehashing the plot too much, because like I said this isn't a review, however:

A slooow build up, lots of Bruce being in moral agony at stuff, Sam The Man shows up and tells him what he thinks he is, Bruce doesnt believe it but his son does.

This takes 90 mins to watch that paragraph.

Bruce starts to believe and goes to a train station to just bump into people to get an idea of what they have done. (Excellent scene, music was top, good stylised visuals).
He sees the maniac, goes to the house and rescues the 2 girls. Almost dies but is saved, shows the paper to his kid to show he does believe now, goes to see Mr Glass.
Glass gives his "Nemesis" speech and we the audience are treated to "the twist"

And then it ends.

What the hell?
What kind of weak ending is this?
"David reported Elijah to the police"
"Elijah is now in a mental institution"
The end.

There's no reason given for why Mr Glass does this, except some little monologue at the end "Now I know I'm not a mistake".
Nothing is said of the potential of Willis being this superhero, you see one act of him saving people and then
"Elijah was arrested and is in an institution now".

Hello?
How does his family react to the fact that Willis is superhuman? Ok, his kid thinks he's cool, but nothing else?
Weak.

I just sat through almost 2 hrs of Bruce looking forlorn and there's no resolution, no following through of the ramifications of Willis realising what he is.
You see nothing of how this affects his life now, nothing in the movie to suggest why Mr Glass "went insane" except for one little scene with Willis' wife saying to the son "Sometimes when someone is ill for a long time, their mind is ill as well"

Duh...thanks for that.
No sense that Elijah/Mr Glass has suffered anything other than physical pain over the years, that's "hidden" for the surprise ending.
I wouldn't mind a "twist" ending if it was
(a) Surprising
(b) Interesting
(c) Resolved the story in any way whatsoever.

You don't just end a movie where nothing has happened for 2hrs with "He was arrested. The End"
That's for Scooby Doo, not a supposed "intelligent" screenwriter like Shaymalan.

Very unsatisfying indeed, no climax, no resolution, no explanation for Willis being unbreakable, no examining of Mr Glass' mental state because of his injury.
He's normal until "Man, I killed loads of people but I'm the villain because you're the hero".

And if it wasn't for those pesky kids...

Yes I agree. I was in the same situation and watched the film on Friday night. I was mortified when the end credits came on. I really hadn't understood a word in the film. There was hardly any speech so I didn't know what was going on and the unexpected twist was rubbish. Absolutely hated this film a waste of the money I spent on renting it out. Rubbish compared to the Sixth Sense! And I thought it was going to be good!

All I was treated to the most uninteresting, boring, tedious film I have ever seen. Felt absolutely cheated with the ending.

In the words of the Simpsons comic shop dude "WORST FILM EVER!"
