FOG - The Freedom Of Gamers Movement!

BACK OF BOX

You are the last hope for gamers worldwide...........

In the year 2020, an experiment into Virtual Reality gaming went horrifically wrong, wiping out nearly a third of the population of New York. As a result of this, gaming of all kinds was banned, leaving a gaming population in despair. Many attempts to revive gaming have been made, all ending in death and destruction. Police, and special anti-gamer hit-men patrol the streets....... its up to you.

Take on the role of eight elite rebel gamers, who take their chances fighting for the freedom of gamers worldwide! You are the FoG, mankind’s last chance for salvation! There’s:-

The Game - a well trained martial arts specialist, with a knack for Mario64

Grix Thraves - A specialist in all kinds of stealth fighting, his favourite weapon being a silenced 9mm.

Ant - He can easily creep behind enemy lines, with his sugar-bombs, he is lethal

Meka_Dragon - an all out blaster, armed with all kinds of assault rifles.

Er-No - Used to be an accountant - now back to help the rebels plan their missions!

Sheepy - Another blasting expert, he’ll never be found without a grenade launcher!

FantasyMeister - The hi-tech weapons guy, he’s always got a new toy to play with

Sniper - A skilled marksman, and great asset to the team!

>Play in over 25 fully 3D missions, across 8 different cities!

>Based on the Unreal multiplayer engine, allowing for great internet action!

>A great enemy AI, reacts to every one of your moves!

>Dynamic plotline - multiple possibilities of endings!

>Geo-Mod technology - blow up your surroundings!

**************

PLOT

The opening cut-scene shows the VR experiment in detail - An experiment is set up, with two people strapped into a strange looking device. It is switched, on, and a strange powering-up noise begins - then, to the dismay of the scientists, the machine explodes, sending shockwaves through the city. As peoples heads explode, we move to a TV news screen. A government official is at a press conference, telling the reporters what happened. Then, we move to a courtroom, where a gavel is brought down. The classified dossier on the desk says: Gaming Banned - Law Passed.

The game then moves to the main screen - The Nintendo sign is the background on the GameCube version, the Playstation logo on the PS2 version etc. with several options in front of it: Start Game, Multiplayer, Options, Cheats and FMV’s.
Its obvious what they do.

**************

SINGLE PLAYER

When you click on start game, a cut-scene begins. It sees out group sitting in a room. It’s a plain room. Sniper and Grix are playing chess. “Check mate says Grix”. Then, FM looks over to the box in the corner. It is time, he says.
Ant and Game move over, and release the padlock on the steel box. Inside is a Playsation2. Er-No tells Sniper to open the window. BANG: Sniper head is taken off. Then you move into FantasyMeister’s head, and play begins.

It is a first person shooter game, with a classic interface. One extra option from your regular FPS is the ability to change characters.

Anyway, the first mission requires you to take out the anti-gamer (AG) Sniper’s dotted in the streets. Each of our heroes has a 9mm pistol with unlimited ammo, and a precision rifle with 20 shots.

If a player gets killed during the game, he can move onto the next character, or start from the last checkpoint. If he carries on however, that character and his skills are lost for the whole game.

There are 5 difficulty levels, ranging from beginner to Impossible.

There are different types of enemies - AG Snipers, riflemen, kamikazes laden with C4’s, the average AG guard and of course bosses at the end of each level.

Your ultimate aim in the game is to reach New York and recover the VR device to make it work. However, what you don’t know is that during the explosion, and evil being was created, named Turbonutter. He is the last boss you have to face at the end of the game. He can fly, disappear, and phases into the VR device when low on health. Once you follow him in, he cannot be beaten by conventional weapons - you must pull the plug. He also has the ability to move at ‘turbo’ speed! A frantic and difficult part of the game, it is also one of the best parts.

During the game, many items can be picked up including:
Rumble pack- increases a players speed
Battery pack - increases range of all energy based weapons
Health Pack - Puts players health to full

Over 30 weapons are available, here are just a few:
Incinerator, AJ-97, SK40, shredder, rocket launcher, Plasma gun, Predator and the M-16.

You meet many people during the game who help you along the way:
Tony: a scientist, you can call him in times of need on your intercom.
M-16 - A townsman, he knows the streets well, and can help you find your way.
Ali - he is a government official who decides to defect, and tells you about Turbonutter just before you face him!
PB - Always full of tricks, he often contacts you to give you tips on beating bosses.

Some of the Single player missions include:

Rescue Shigeru: Rescue Miyamoto from the AG forces and escort him to safety.

Sabotage EMP ray: The AG scientists have perfected a weapon that will render all games consoles in-usabel - take it out before it can be used!

***********

MULTIPLAYER

There are lots of modes in the multiplayer game including:

Capture the Ps2!: Play on your own against bots or over the internet in a frantic rush to find the Ps2 and get it back to your own base! The longer you hold it, the more points you get!

Battle: Huge multiplayer death-match, with bots or over the internet! Play using over 38 different skins, including Turbonutter, AG guards, Tony and Shigeru Miyamoto!

When we learn how to programme.

I don't think that I'll get the chance to design games for another 10 years (6 years learning and then another 4 years working my way up from a lowly programmer to a designer)

Keep making ideas though. Never stop.

Submit the idea to a developer! It'll have a limited audience span, but in a few years time, as this forum grows in member size, the game will become legendary!

If the FoG keeps up this pace of growth, it'll be more than legendary!

That’s a really good idea. Now how is my coping and pasting…. Ok its going to a developer now, thanks for the idea! Joking. But you should submit it to a developer, look around and try to find a company that’s just started up and has no good idea’s, see what they think.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
