I live 5 minutes away from the only 2 cinemas in my town an old 3 screen Odeon and a 7 screen Warner which is fine but I thought I'd venture further afield to look for some quality cinema viewing. Sheffield one of the closest cities to where I live (about 30 minutes by car), so I checked I started checking out what was showing in Sheffield. I knew there would be more choice but what I wasn't expecting was 5 Cinema's featuring 54 screens and even more unbelievable than that, I could still not find anything I wanted to watch.
54 screens, 54 screens and still noting to watch. The main reason for this was that the largest (the Ucg) was using it's 20 screens for screening Tomb Raider ever 45 minutes.
With rumours of another Warner cinema opening in Sheffield and undoubtedly a similar picture across the UK, Instead of things hopefully improving with a wider choice quality films being shown at a larger variety of different cinemas, all I can see is more multiplex's showing more poor films, more frequently

Multiplex cinemas will show what brings in the money. If you don't want to see mindless drivel, don't watch it. If you only want to see "good" films then go see them, there isn't much else you can do.
