With the release of final fantasy 10 only around the corner. do you think that maybe they should stop making the games because they are dragging on, our do you say bring out more of the games?

I finished both FF7 and FF8 in under a month each using no strategy guides or cheats as I believe them to be evil!

FF7 took me 42 hours including obtaining a gold chocobo and knights of the round - but not defeating Emerald and Ruby weapon!

FF8 took me nearly 80 hours first time through, I don't know how. I wanted to try and find all the secrets.
It was a very lonely month for me :-(

FF9 I found tremendously boring and part exchanged it within the first month of its release. I had reached disc 4 but found that I was only striving toward the end so I could get rid of it while it was still worth something and not because I was actually enjoying the game - thus, it went!!!
I'll probably borrow it off someone eventually just so I can say I've finished it, I've kept my save on my memory card and I think I was close to the last boss!

How long is disc 4 anyway?

Final Fantasies 7-9 each take about 30 hours second time around (maybe less). So in a month that is one hour a day. Not too difficult really.

Even if it takes you 60, which FF7 did to me the first time, as I got all the chocos, Knights of the Round etc... then thats still only 2 hours a day.

For strategy guides, try this sites cheat section. If there isn`t a guide section, then perhaps IGN may have (ps2.ign.com) or just go to a search engine and put "final fantasy cheat guides" or something, and your bound to find something.

Its a fairly long corner that FFX is around. I wouldn`t expect to see it in the UK or US until 2002. Only those lucky Japanese people will see it soon.

It does look awesome though. I have watched the movies at IGN over and over again. That trailer from ECTS was spectacular. While it may only have been FMV, it was still so jaw droppingly beautiful that I couldn`t help but be overwhelmingly impressed.

Final Fantasy 11 also promises to be something special as well. The thought of an online Final Fantasy world is something special. While I certainly prefer a good multiplyer bash up with a few friends to the cold environment of internet gaming, the idea of meeting up with a friend somewhere in the gaming map, and taking on opponents together using the usual spells and tricks that go with the Final Fantasy games is certainly very appealing.

However, for extremely good looks, Jak and Daxter is a game of a similar nature to Crash Bandicoot, and could be as good looking as some of the Final Fantasy games. It also has the advantage that it is expected this year.

Well each one is a different story. The only thing that can be the same are the stats and maybe some of the magic and combat. I think that the FF series could go on forever as each version has its own location, characters story line so there are never any sequels even though we are coming up to number 10.
