I have a kinda OK computer at the moment (2.4 Gh processor, Gforce MX graphics) but I need some more speed/power, so I'm thinking of getting a better graphics and processor, but I'll need to get some expensive stuff to get much better than my present specs, and I don't want to waste my other components.

So, I was thinking of keeping my current processor and ADDING another processor to it (ie. dual processor). But I have no idea how to do this. Do I need another motherboard? Can I have dual graphics-processers as well? Do the processors have to have the same specs? Please help me! I need the power for my programming!

frankly i think your PC sounds pretty good. I would wait until some serious advances come along. the best you could do is get hyperthreading which is essentially dual-processors.

Just find another area to upgrade if you want.

and for dual graphics cards:

this is only available on a new motherboard developed by Alienware and will only feature inside their PCs. each card does half the screen.

i would not recommend a dual processor system. the computer utilising both processors is dependant on software so for a lot of stuff you'll still be using one processor only. really it's just not been developed enough for proper commerial market. sorry.

i'm not very clever at this subject but i think you need a new motherboard or add another desktop case and wire it up.

i was told you can buy standard motherboards with up to 4 slots for processers,

my mate has 5 PC's linked together sharing there power into 1 in his LAN.
