Now what appeal does a show like this have?
Is it that Trish looks like a horse, and is therefore amusing? Well it's funny for all of two seconds, but this show has been going for years!
It must be the freak show factor that makes it popular then, and that's just a little bit odd.
I could see no appeal in hearing a woman telling her daughter that it was her husband or her family, and she had to decide.
And I can see no real benefit to those that partake in these shows in airing their dirty laundry in public.
Where Trish is bad, Jerry Springer is much worse.
Jerry Springer is popular because more often that not, the guests start fighting, and the topics for each show try to be more controversial. I once saw a pre-op transexual telling 'her' long-term boyfriend that 'she' was still a guy. On national, no international, television. They'd been together for an age, so he may have accepted this if 'she' told him at a more appropriate time, but on television? He felt humiliated. So he picked up his chair, and hit her with it.
Some things are worth discussing on shows like this. They may help people in similar situations. But turning these people into a freak show for the sake of entertainment?
Again, I choose to switch off.
You can picture the scene can't you? Home from a day's work to your girlfriend/boyfriend/cousin's satan worshipping inbred shemale and are greeted with
"Hey honey, want to go on Springer next week?"
Response are
(a) "Sure! That'd be neat!"
(b) "Why? What is going to happen? Are you really a man?"
(c) "No thanks, I have my dignity to consider. Are you really a man?
If you appear on that show, you have to expect the worst possible thing.
Ergo, fun to watch. The look of surprise on the person's face when the surprise is unveiled is priceless.
And, they make the men walk past each other to sit down instead of letting them out the correct side of the stage.
Every single little item is designed to cause maximum aggro.
And he can sit at the end and say "Take care of yourselves, and each other"
He appeared on a Simpson's episode once as himself, with the family on because Maggie was an Alien.
Ended with Homer throwing a chair, Marge swearing and Springer punching the Alien.
He knows he's The King.
If I got a call saying someone wanted me to appear on Jerry Springer there's no way I'd agree to it!
You'd surely know that some secret would be outed that would effect you in some way!
That is why I hate Trish and all those other faux "help" shows.
They get someone up, drag their pain out and then cut to a commercial break.
It's glib pyscho analysis by a TV show host, it does more damage than good in my opinion.
Springer though, no pretensions to helping anyone, no attempts at solving the problems, just let these monkeys out, push their buttons and watch them go into a one-off man mental.
Superb.
It's entertainment, he knows it, we know it. Not to be taken seriously at all.
Kilroy is the worst. Smug, self satisfied little orange man. Opens wounds and then goes for his latte after the show.
Evil, despicable self-promoting tosh.
Or, "I've got a secret!" with Springer.
Great.
One question has always bothered me though.
EVERYONE knows what the Springer show is about, why would you agree to appear on it?
He never does nice shows re-uniting families.
You gotta expect some trouble if you go on there.
Which is why these pond-feeders are fair targets.
I suppose it might be funny if it was a spoof of a chat show, but to think that these people, these absolute cretins, really exist, and really believe that they can come on these shows to solve problems? I don't know it's sad to see how pathetic other humans can be!
I don't blame Springer, he's seen an opportunity to make money from these monkeys, and he does direct it well ie he always pushes the questions that will lead to the fights, but the likes of Vanessa, Trish and Rikki Lake actually believe that they are helping these people!
> But Springers Final Thought?
That's just pretentious over the top
> twaddle.
"Take care of yourselves, and each other!"
That's the whole point. He allows these chimps to wail on each other, and then "Hey, take care of yourselves"
This guy is the irony king.
Everyone gets really, really heated about Springer, but just watch it and realise he doesn't care.
He offers no solutions, no glib advice, no sir.
Trailer-Trash fighting.
Superb.
Last night was "You Ain't Gonna Marry Him!"
This stuff is pure gold.

lol... aye...
Although, I suppose it is a hook, and a catchphrase...
Also it's bound to annoy people who would otherwise complain about the shows 'lack of moral content'... you know the type
:)
That's just pretentious over the top twaddle.
"Take care of yourselves, and each other!"
9:30am... Its tea time for olf folks y'know...
The UK ones are so false, they drip with insincerity, as do Rikki Lake, Oprah and all the rest. However, Springer is The King of Crap TV and admits it every single time he can.
He knows (and boasts) that his show is total rubbish and anyone can do his job, but as long as they keep paying him and people keep watching it, he'll do it.
I admire the man. He doesn't pretend it solves anything, he just invites rednecks on and stands back whilst they do their "thang" and the audience chants "Steve! Steve!" as he steps in to stop things.
Springer doesn't solve any issues, offers nothing more than being able to watch it and think "You know what? My life ain't that bad!" and relax.
He's a smart guy is Springer, doesn't even pretend for one second he is anything more than a referee.
He made a movie called "The Ringmaster".
My fav show? For pure "This is gonna be bad" is when he had the Ku Klux Klan on one side of the stage and The Black Panthers on the other.
Fireworks were instant and The Panthers kicked the crap out of the "Klan", which should happen on a daily basis.
Except one Klansman made a crack about Jews and Springer lost it.
His parents were in Dachau, and Springer totally went mental, attacked this guy himself and had to be pulled off.
Any show that lets people like the Klan appear and show how retarded they are is a good thing. Give these morons a platform to air their heads so we can spot them more easily.
(and in case anyone misreads this post, I am NOT pro-Ku Klux Klan. Any chance these bigoted morons are allowed on tv or radio to show how narrow minded they is a good thing)
