I have also owned an amstrad, SNES ( good old mario kart and bomberman),Amiga 500, Spectrum, PSX, Gamegear, and now my PS2 takes pride and place where all these consoles or computers used to sit. But it made me think, when you think about it the gaming world has come a long long way in the past 20 years or so. The graphics and gameplay have improved so much, things look very realistic and sometimes a little too realistic. Loading times are nearly gone, It used to take my spectrum and amstrad around 30 mins to load a game and sometimes they were really bad.
But Im not really sure that gamers these days know how lucky they are, all we seem to hear is people moaning about release dates, loading times, graphics and gameplay. Why can't you realise that no game is ever going to be perfect, nothing is really when you think about it.
So how far can you remember back? Whats the first console and game you really liked? So this is the past, what can we expect from the future, guess not even mystic meg will tell us that, we could be playing games were we are actualy part of the game and what happens depends on the person playing it, or maybe games will just die out as something else comes along and takes the world by storm. We'll just need to wait and see.
Remember Games are supposed to be fun. Enjoy what you've got.
