At the moment I have an Assault team consisting of 3 Rainbows specialising in ranged rifle combat, a 1 man Sniper Team consisting of the best Sniper in Rainbow and a 2 man demolition team consisting of an Assault Rainbow and a Demolitions expert. The map is the Oil Refinery only the whole size of the Xbox version would fit a few times over into just the outside sections of the PC version alone. It's a completely different game for those who were thinking it was of a similar vein.
Alpha commands, Bravo commands, Charlie commands, sheesh it seriously gives you one hell of a facking head ache as the planning map is full of 100's of commands that would only make sense if you started from the beginning and worked your way through them one by one. Just to give an example of how in-depth the game is, when you plot a waypoint you have multiple different options, you can issue a named command (i.e. Alpha) which means that when the Rainbow reaches that point they won't move onto the next waypoint until they are given the Alpha Go-Code, not only that but you can choose whether they approach that waypoint in Assault, Infiltrate or Recon mode and within those you can choose whether you will move at Blitz speed, normal speed or cautious speed; each one has a symbol on the map representing the different method you chose.
In the single player standard the enemies don't just spawn in one area either, it is a completely random setup like the Terrorist Hunt in the Xbox version. Thankfully you can view the mission before hand so the computer takes over and walks you through the plan with you giving the Go-Codes and what not so you can see where to place the Snipers, where to assault at speed etc.
To get to that point though you have an in-depth team selection screen, each weapon has the option of a scope, a silencer, high caliber clip; with the sniper having this special Thermal Zoom to see through walls etc. You can also kit each of your teams (Red, Green and Gold) in different clothing. For example the Assault Team has Medium Black Camo which will protect them but won't weight them down so they can't move, then you give the other teams kit accordingly, about 20-25 different ones to choose from.
Every weapon (bar certain shotguns) can be equipped with a sniper barrel so you can stay quiet, a feature sorely missing from the Xbox version. The maps are about 50 times the size of the Xbox version and each one has literally hundreds of ways around it to avoid the linear gameplay.
I don't know whether those with only the Xbox version are lucky or whether they are missing out on something, I personally would say the latter as this is what a real tactical shooter plays like, excellent to be honest...
