Pub teams come here!
I know its a little early but...
We start again in October to defend our trophies.
Tuesday night is 501 straight start double finish (BREAK charity league) Thursday night is 301 double in double out (Les Rhodes memorial league, winner chooses charity currently McMillan Nurses).
We (as in The Crown, Sheringham) won both last season so it should be interesting to see if we can do it again (not if I get to play!) So I thought it would be nice to have a "global" collective of results from around the country (or world) for us all to share. If there is enough interest I will gladly collate results and produce league tables. Maybe we could get sponsorship from Special Reserve?
Let`s see how we go. Good luck to all, please let me know which charity your league supports as well.
Thanks, Darren (as in Daz, Soapy, Crown.... ok?)

I know its a little late, and I have read the rather "unflattering" comments about our noble sport, but I dont care as I am posting these results for a personal record (thanx to Spec Res.) more than your reading matter.
Anyway, after our rather impressive first game result the trend continued with a 12-2 win over the Red Lion. A new team to the league who, to give SERIOUS respect to, actually had a good team but were "unused to" (for want of a better phrase) our board. We all had a good night and the score did not really reflect the standard of the game.
But to continue matters on a rather more serious note, we played tonight against The Chequers of Runton. Who are a very good team but they lost 12-2 to our nearest rivals (The Red Hart). We, unfortunately, could only manage a 8-6 win on their board, which is a nice board with a fair throw, but we seemed to struggle on the finishing doubles. As it was out first away game of the season, I thought it was a good result for all concerned... of wich yours truly had a treble 20 in all of his throws (ok, I only had 3 goes in the fours but I averaged over 60 per throw!)
The only problem was we all had out heads down after the game `coz we "only" won 8 to 6. I told everybody at the time a win is a win but, for some reasom, they expected more. To tell you all the truth, (I say "all" in anticipation of the millions of readers to this...) I expected a far closer result, possibly even a draw, as the Chequers are a very good side on their own board.
It only goes to show that its not the winning that counts...blah blah... it all comes to those who wait...
Read on next week!

First match was Thursday 4th October.
The Crown (us) were at home against The Albion (Cromer).
It seemed The Albion were struggling to find a starting double (301 double in , double out) but, as ever, The Crown just got on with it. Out of a possible 14 points The Crown took all 14. It could have been a lot closer if only The Albion could have found those starting doubles. But a 14-0 win is not to be sniffed at as we didnt have one of those last season. But, as with all games, a good night was had by all and hopefully The Albion will build on it as they are a new team to the league this season. The season rolls on with a rather good start!
