Has anyone played alone in the dark the new nightmare?

I'm still waiting for the PS2 release but this game looks pretty sweet,The original's which yes there's no excuse for it Resident Evil COMPLETLY ripped off this game but made it a thousand times better.Even the oil can is exactly the same which is probably why capcom took it out but you can see this in res evil which a gameshark code.Res evil will always be the better game though no doubt about that.
The new nightmare has the same control system i'm told as res evil and looks fantastic.

if you've played it what did you think of it?

I own it for Dreamcast and its just about as good as survival horror gets!!
I would have to say its not quite as good as the Resident Evil titles but definately up there with the best of the rest!!
It is rather straight forward and what you come to expect from horror games - The backdrops are all pretty sweet and the use of the torch creates some breathtaking lighting!! It has atmosphere by the bucket load and will make you jump out your skin!! The cut scenes are amazing aswell!!
A must for horror fanatics without doubt!! Might be just a tad too easy for some though!!

I used my Xplorer FX cartridge to watch the ending videos but I did play it and its a really good game but by the time the Ps2 version comes out I will be busy on SH2 so I'm not thinking of getting it.

I think its a great game (Only played the Playstation verion though, Not PS2). The lighting effects are great and the monsters are hard, the control system is near identical to Resident Evil Games which means I felt right at home.

The only bad point is that the weapons arent as good as with the ResidentEvilGames, and you cant fire your weapon up or down (No blowing off heads here then). The game has a number of plus points over Resi though...you can save at any point during the game so long as you have a Charm of Saving (Equivalent to a Ribbon in ResidentEvil) and the puzzles are a bit more trickier than the Resident Evil Games.

Its very much a cross between Silent Hill(for atmoshere) and Resident Evil(for gameplay), all in all highly recommended. Im sure the Playstation2 version is much better to.

A must purchase for all survivor horror fans.
