As we all know, the fully and immensely waited for handheld console of the future Game Boy Advance came out a couple of weeks ago. There are already many god games on it and I congratulate those who have purchased one, but to those who haven’t I think this topic will change your mind once and for all.
Before I get into the reasons to get one game wise here are the specs of it, but to some it wont really mean much.
Specs:
· Screen - Reflective TFT Colour LCD
· Screen Size - 40.8mm x 61.2mm
o Resolution - 240 x 160 dots
o Display Capability - 32,000 colour
o CPU - 32 bit RISC-CPU + 8 bit CISC-CPU
· Memory - 32 Kbytes WRAM + 96 Kbytes VRAM (in CPU) 256 Kbytes WRAM
· Sound - Speaker, Headphone Terminal
· Multi-play by up to 4 people possible with Game Boy Advance Communication Cable
· Power Supply - 2 AA Alkaline Batteries or special Battery Pak
· Battery Life - 2 AA Alkaline Batteries: Approx. 15 hours---nice!
Battery Pak: Approx. 10 hours
· Power Consumption - Approx. 0.6W
· Dimensions - 82mm(L) x 144.5(W) x 24.5mm(D)
· Main Unit Weight - Approx. 140g

Now I have told you the technical reasons to get this handy little device here are some more reasons to pick one up at your local game… I mean Sr!
What makes it different from the Game boy/ colour is that they had some immature games and short platformers/adventures in it. The graphics weren’t powerful enough to hold a decent adventure game or many details in it so most games were a bit poor. The GBA on the other hand has some very powerful graphics the same as the playstation with 32-bit but not always as smooth. This means that it can take bigger and ultimately better than any other hand held consoles that we have ever seen before like the game boy colour or Neo Geo. The games like Mario advance, Mario kart, Castlevania, F zero and other games like RPG’s show that it could be even better than the playstation… I know!
I know a lot of you won’t be convinced yet but keep reading because You haven’t heard anything yet.
Top five games- (my opinion)
F zero: maximum velocity- you will have seen this game before on various other consoles and know that it is one lean mean killing machine! You take the driving seat of a small flying machine like in wipe-out and zoom around ace tracks with smooth gameplay and power ups and graphics and… For starters you should probably get this game as it will take you ages till you save enough money for another game.
Tony hawks pro Skater 2- IF you have this from the DC or Psx then you will know what this game is all about and be best off skipping this game for the moment. For the people who don’t know it, basically you go around some excellent tracks or parks pulling off stunts to improve points and unlock new tracks. Also this little console can actually take the power off building your own tracks!
Castlevania- another classic from the Snes and I is better than ever! The plot is that you wander around a castle trying to hunt down Dracula who took your master. On your way you find new weapons, sub weapons, magic power ups to venture to new places and getting your level up. This is a must have and every owner should have this…unless you completed it on the Snes countless times.
Konami Krazy racers- while you’re waiting for Mario kart you must get this little beauty. IT is a frantic little kart racer where you do everything in your power to win the race at hand. If you cant wait for MK then get this.
Kuri, kuri kurin- Possibly one of the best puzzle games around at the moment and it is for the Game boy advance. You move your little rectangle around tight levels and tricky corners to reach the goal at end. IT may seem lame but you will be hooked for hours.
So there are the reasons to get your GBA. Here are a few more if still not convinced.
- Controller for Gamecube. SO you can play with your brother.
- It is nintendo.
