i was interested. Does th e 9600xt 256mb graphic card fan make a lot of noise? i've heard rumours it does and does DDR 2 Make much of a difference the graphic card has only ddr1

What's your budget?
At the moment its the 9800 Pro 128mb as you can get them for as little as £120 on special, but about £140 normally. They are being replaced by the X800 so it might be hard to get a 9800 Pro soon so if you can't get one then the next best option would be a 9600XT at £100-£110 for a 256mb model.
