I reccomend taking a look at F zero, Crazy Konami racers, Kuru kuru Kururin and/or Rayman advance.
GT Advance, not to be mistaken for Top Gear GT Championship!! Is an amazing game - The closest there has ever been to Gran Turismo on a handheld - Loads of cars, loads of tracks and an endless ammount of options!! One of the best GBA games available I think!!
Konami Krazy Racers is good, and it does meet all the demands of a good racer, although there are somethings that's missing.... Mario, Luigi, Wario, Toad, Bowser, Peach, Yoshi, and Kong!
It is a great game and if you've got the money get it, you'lll love it, but if you're going to get one karting game, WAIT. There's nothing that will beat Mario Kart.... trust me!

Me? I haven't got one...but that is not the point. I can always play my friends one until my Bday. Definately do not get Mario. You will complete it in days and will not like it in the first place, take my advice and buy it but do not play it. Take a hammer and smash it into little peices, this will be more fun than playiong it anyways.
I think that you should all wait until the next batch of games come out or get some American imports. The games i have seen totally blew me away. Dodge Ball Advance, looks great. Earthworm Jim, perfect replica of the fandabytastic Snes game. Or maybe Iridion 3d, not forgetting Mario Kart Advance though.
